Xmas in Bangkok, where to stay?

Seeking ideas on where to stay and what to do in BKK over Xmas 25/26/27. We have family [couple] coming for 2 weeks. Seeing temples or ruins is not a priority ... seeing me is bad enough.

Prefer a 3 or 4 star hotel in or near Chinatown as CBD/Suk we know already. Secure parking required.

Eating and shopping is a given, floating market, Chatuchak also. Any other ideas for something different?
    Cheers, Rob.

Are you guys looking for some Xmas spirit?
If so, I felt staying over by Four Seasons area had the most Christmasy feel in BKK....it was actually quite nice
We stayed at the Four Seasons but I am sure you can find other hotels in area if that appeals to you

Christmas in the Soi Cowboy area was great. A lot of pubs in the area do good traditional Christmas dinner too...
My only experience was in a pie making factory managing the gravy team

Very little to see and do around Chinatown unless you're looking for some cheap massage and street FL's

^Chinatown's about food, markets and old Bangkok.

Four Seasons is nice Paul, a bit too nice, but thanks anyway.

Yeah they set up footpath stalls and cook up dim sum after 18.00. About the only good thing about the place.
Plenty of gold shops so make sure you have your CC handy 55

Did the rounds of the whole area on my PCX 2 months ago. A lot of road works and disruption ATM.

I was just talking about the area for the Xmas spirit
If that is an interest I am sure there are decent 3 star places over there

    Actually Rob

Check out the Ibis Riverside where I stayed last time
    It was FABULOUS!!
Easy to get anywhere by BTS or taxi, the grounds and pool area are as nice as the 5 star places across the river, there is parking if you guys drive and there is a nice local street with tons of shops

I really loved it and the price should be right

That's more like it .... thanks. Finding a balance between location, luxury and affordability is the key as my son will use accrued Agoda points for our bookings.
