My TGF got it 2 years ago in Southern Phuket, she was proper sick, a week in Hospital, recently a neighbours daughter brought it back from Bali and she took longer to recover; apparently it is a daytime mossy that caries it and most people don't protect themselves until late afternoon.

I got the dengue light one on Koh Lipe a few years ago chikanugya or something. Had a bad headache for a few weeks after but went away after. As nice as Koh Lipe was there was so much construction work going on it meant there were all these pockets of still water - perfect breeding ground for mossies. Will never go back there again, although I appreciate dengue/other is all over Thailand.

I had dengue on my first trip in 06. Not sure if I got bitten in Phuket or Cambodia as was there for a few days before I came down with it. In hospital for few nights...felt so bloody awful. Even when I got back to UK I remember not being right for a good 6 months. I got fatigued and it used to come on instantly. Went to the Dr in the UK and he said chronic fatigue is quite common post a virus infection and should clear up in time.

    Is it similar to malaria?

Apparently the chances of it killing you is much higher if you've had it before.
Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.

Do you use it at daytime?

It's weird, but every trip I used to get bitten to fuck.. bites all over me... even my balls... and I used spray!

But for about the last half dozen trips, nothing.... do you suddenly become unappealing to them? Can they detect if you are ill already maybe?

don't worry about being bitten by a shark, snake, terrorist attack or whatever....mosquitoes and the diseases they carry are the biggest killer of people over the ages!!

    The potential horror of dengue

18 January 2016 BANGKOK — Actor “Por Thrisadee” died at 11:50am today of complications resulting from dengue fever after 71 days in intensive care, the hospital announced in a statement today.

Ramathibodee Hospital said Thrisadee Sahawong, 37, died at about 11:50am today.

"Since early January 2016, his lung infection escalated, causing his condition to progressively deteriorate," it read. "He eventually stopped responding to treatment and passed away peacefully."

The statement said Trisadee has been suffering from various health complications such as kidney failure, liver failure, hemorrhaging and loss of white blood cells. His left foot had been amputated due to a blood clot in his leg.
