    Pie & Chips in CM

For those that like farang food in Chiang Mai I had one of the best pie and chips I have had at the English Pub right next door to the Raming Lodge, turn left as you walk out of the hotel and its right behind the little money changer office. The pub is run by a friendly pom and he was good to talk to aswell. My TG said the Thai food was very good aswell

    The Olde Bell
The Olde Bell is a British Pub located in the heart of downtown Chiang Mai.

We are located on Loi Kroh rd, 300m from the moat and next door to the Raming Lodge Hotel

We serve Draught Guinness, Heineken, Tiger and the local brew Chang

We stock a wide range of imported beers and ciders.

Our restaurant serves a range of British, Indian, Italian, Chinese and Thai dishes from 10am to midnight

Where are pies actually from, locally made or imported?

There are so many great places to eat in CM: Stefano's Italian, The Dukes (ribs/pizza), The Salad Bar.... I love eating all things in Thailand. [work that one out silently, ok ]
    Cheers, Rob.

They tell me the Pies are Imported(Aust) and the chips were homemade.

Have been to the Dukes twice now, good aswell.

Had the best Pizza ever in Pai, made at 10pm at night in a little Italian resturant, cooked in a big old wood fired pizza oven, maybe the free shooters at the Ting Tong Bar and a few Heinekens helped with the taste 555

    Was it this one: Amido

Jo and I are partial to a good pizza. I reckon you get the BEST ever pizza's farthest from Italy, in tiny (almost) unheard of locations, like Pai. There's a great Italian restaurant in Doi Saket, just 20 mins north of Chiang Mai heading toward Chiang Rai. Turn off right, into DS and right again at intersection - just down past Amphur office on right! Locanda website here > Chiang Mai Locanda - The Best Restaurant in the North of Thailand
    Cheers, Rob.

Ha, You have to try the Aussie burger at the Downunder Pub, it even has Beetroot.
Self promotion but hey, try one, alloy mark(110B)
I also recommend the River Market, a great meal Thai or western style, a very professional place.

Beetroot, aloi mak mak! Look fwd to hearing more about the 'new' menu, Stew.
Check out Archers and Pun Pun, they seem to do a roaring trade with tourists and expats.
    Cheers, Rob.

Greedy landlord syndrome was the reason it closed down and now empty but possibly something new coming?
