I'm available for any excursion/pub crawl.... whatever ... except Nov 5 to 14 when I'll be in Oz for my son's wedding.
    Cheers, Rob.

Rivo will be in Chiang Mai in January 2013, no dates confirmed yet, waiting on my mate to get leave approval, looking like later in the month.

I have to head up to Chiang Rai again to see the kids for a week, not sure when that will happen either, whether at the start of my 3 weeks or the end.

My TG wants to take me to Phu Chee Fah, has anyone been here at sunrise for the view, its at the bottom of this map.............

I've been to Phu Chee Fa at sunset. I don't do sunrises 55.
Actually, that's not true. I stayed there overnight so technically I was there at sunrise but was asleep
Amazing place and well worth a visit. there are some great motorbike roads around there too. The 1155 and a great little road up to Phaya Phitak that I call the scalextrix track.

Looks a lovely spot to visit. Near Doi Pha Tang View Point - had a quick look on Google and its 320 km's from CM. Phu Chi Fa - Seven Wonders of Amazing Thailand - Paknam Web
    Cheers, Rob.

You may not have bent the knee yet Rivo (i am sure only because of your hip!), but you are sounding more and more hitched by the day. 10 years. 555

No worries. Start without me, warm things up and I'll continue where you left off

Look more closely Rivo. It's more than half way up on the far right.
The text is at the bottom but there's a thin red line up to where Phu Chi Fa is..

Doi Pha Tang, which I think is also known as 'Pratu Siam'. is just above it.

"It must be one of the most ruggedly beautiful places in Southeast Asia--Pratu Siam, the Gate of Siam. Surrounded by steep limestone cliffs, this mountain pass on the border of Thailand and Laos looks like a scene from a Chinese painting. In the canyon far below, mist and clouds drift along the Mekong.
Picturesque it may be, but Pratu Siam and the nearby village of Phatang are unknown to tourists. Until well into the 1990s the area was off limits to outsiders. Up to just a few years ago, even local maps didn't show Phatang or the Gate of Siam. Getting here is not easy: The 15-kilometre road from the lowlands is steep and potholed, and almost impassable"

    More Here.

For anyone doing some riding up here i`ve been telling plenty they should go to Nan as the MHS loop road is a bit of a mess and definitely no fun on a big road bike, probably better on a Super Motard.
Last time up on the VFR many times just about to lay it into a corner and have to sit it back up and weave through the potholes.

There`s some nice scenery and decent smooth road around Nan and the 1148 on the way in from the north is great on a big road bike.

I'm updating the OP with dates as people respond.
Has anyone seen VG? He doesn't seem to be posting much as he used to lately.

I did notice my mistake Norabunga 555 You can see I havent been there 555

Ill make sure we go next trip, see if I can get a sunrise picture for you 555

My TG pronouces it as "PU55YFAR" very funny when she says it, she has been there dozens of times, back before the road was sealed and only Walking/Motorbike or by Horse could accesss the peak. She has a friend who lives in a nearby village and they used to go there quite often.
