A spare bed at Mae Kompong is what I need.

Did I not mention, Jo's cousin's will be here with her own bike >

Another electrical storm and strong winds last night, knocked out power for hours. I think most of Chiang Mai was blacked out just as a Thai 747 (or 777) came in on final approach. Must be a little disconcerting for pax looking down on city lights that suddenly black-out!
    Cheers, Rob.

Probably even more disconcerting for the pilots when the runway lights disappear momentarily, until (hopefully) the back-up gen-set kicks in

It`s time for the rain now.
It`s been a bit late coming this year but Aug seems to be the month we get it up here but as usual it seems to rain early morning and clear up later.

Storm causes flooding, landslides across the North - The Nation

The road to Bo Kluea (near Nan)....

Hopefully will be cleared for the ride season

Always wondered why the girls from the Northern Cities on "thaifriendly" where often pictured in warm coats, some with fur collars!

If it gets below 20c, you'll often see St Bernard dogs patrolling the streets with a barrel of Sangsom around their neck. <7>

My prevailing memory was Thai people gathered around an open fire, with hands outstretched, that had been lit at the corner of the street, and me wandering past in t-shirt and shorts.
