If you are going to go motor biking given you have other things to do I would ride to Pai for the night. Nice hippy town great food and not to far. A small bike will do the trip fine.

You could do a day out to Mai Rim to the X centre ride some drift karts thats a easy trip on a small bike aswell and its a nice loop back home.

If you can ride a mountain bike look up the guys at X-Biking.

Huay Tung Tao Lake is a great spot for lunch and a swim.

If you like fishing Bosang fishing lake is also a fun day would suggest a half day of fishing those things are big and trying to get in.

If your looking for mainly P4P stay in Patts those two weeks but seriously the north has so much to offer as far as seeing Thailand and things to do. One week is not much time in the north.

    Have a nice trip

LK road is ok to grab a girl if you want one.

going in august so should be rainy season, and given thai safety standards and the things on youtube i think grade three should be fine. ive seen pai mentioned quite a lot is it worth taking a couple days out chiang mai for it, or am i just going up there to be sucked dry of blood by mosquitios

the rainy season this year was unusually dry, sunny and hot. next year....who knows.

i did the mae taeng in aug 2009 and it was a hell of a ride.
river was flooding and a raging torrent. it was touch and go whether we went but did. grade 5 and 6 rapids then. 2 people nearly drowned at the grade 6 part.luckily the raft i was in didn't tip over at that one.

Rainy season is better, far less tourists.

Plus Moo will stay home so a chance you may find a girl 555

Pai I feel is a one night trip. If you have time ride to Mai Hong son the following day. If you need company take a girl from CM but you will enjoy your riding better on your own.

The Mai Hong Son loop is a good ride Google it but it will take 3 or 4 days.

    ^ it's doable in 2 Ozzy.

rainy season this year was great for getting out and about. just the odd afternoon storm around and some rain at the top of higher peaks.

even in 2011 during the big floods it mainly rained at night and sunny-overcast days.

that rapid in the pic is the grade 6 one. they stop the boats before and after it so you can choose to walk around it. you can see on the big rock behind the guide where the water has been. it was up near that when i went.

Did you make a killing buying/selling the silver?
Your Mom is right - unless it's the Devils Den limo and you get at least two BBBJs and two roots before you get to Pattaya you will be a prat.
