    Farang car insurance

Hi, up until now I have rented cars and added the Thai Village Mrs to the agreement for insurance however, as I now have a Non Immigrant multi entry, and my stays are much longer, she has suggested we buy a car, fine on the never never it should work out about the same annually, except for the deposit, but what I cannot figure is the insurance which I would then need to be listed on for cover or is it like say Switzerland where the vehicle is insured and anyone can drive; any help / advice other than don't ?

    No need to list drivers.
The car is insured for any driver with a valid licence.

Google AA insurance brokers in Pattaya.
They'll give you a great deal -cheaper than dealing with Insurers direct.
They'll also explain a number of options for cover.

Actually I wanted to ask this question
Does that include me as an International driver?
I will want to drive my wife's car when I am Thailand next month and didn't know if the car is insured if I am driving?

Obviously you need to check the fine print in your policy.
Some will accept any legal and valid licence.
Some will insist on a current International Driving Permit.
Some will insist on a valid Thai licence only.

Would be best to get a IDP before you leave.

Thanks, I get an IDP every year from my main Town post office, although the card issued is AA supplied; I have the start date run from the expiry of the last one; I have sent an e-mail to AA insure too.
