    Our Melbourne Members OK?

I see there was a massive storm in Melbourne last night. In the North West suberbs.

Hail the size of cricket balls in some areas. I hope any member caught in it is OK and not too much damage to their property etc.

Not a nice Christmas present for anyone, TD members or not.

Both G4 and I are in the Sth Eastern suburbs, we got some heavy tropical style rain with lots of lightning and thunder but no hail... It was actually funny, when the storm first rolled in (around 4pm) we were sitting out on the deck at my folks place, I was sitting in between my Grandmother (who was asleep) and my BIL (ex SAS)... The first bit of thunder was so loud, one that you feel the vibration through the ground... My Grandmother all most fell out of her chair and my BIL sprung up as If a shell had just gone off in the backyard... I was waiting for him to yell out "TAKE COVER" 555......
Good thing is, the Crickets on!!

Thursday week ago, we had a massive electrical storm that was the meeting of one storm going South, with another going North. It was 3am and I was just heading off to Ballina the rain was so heavy I couldn't see the road. Where I live it rained 60cm an hour for a few hrs.

I was headed South and the lightning was striking alongside the highway only 100m ahead, the flash was blinding and the thunder hurt my ears, and shook my car like a pack of hoods were jumping on it.

I heard there was hail North of Townsville, and for this time of year thats amazing.

The Cricket is at lunch, the Sydney to Hobart is getting ready to start. Love the harbour, I use to race on a 38ft yacht each Wednesday, out of middle harbour yacht club. Great times....

We had an all nighter xmas eve in North East Victoria. What a sound and light show. My big sook of a German shepherd kept trying to get into bed with me... Move over rover 555. As usual we in the country don't rate with City news so I have not heard of any major damage locally though I don't know how the apples and cherries went around Beechworth and Stanley. Xmas day cool then hot then rainy then thundery then dry then rainy. Almost as bad as Melbourne weather, but better for sleeping than summer thunderstorsm for the ten years I lived in Qld.

Now keep this to yourself CO. Jack - My Shepherd, is a true very large German shepherd whose dad was a cop, not one of those in bread sloping back half sized "Thoroughbreds". If you turned up here solo, you wouldn't get in the front gate and most meter reader tend to tippy toe in or shout from the gate, but turn up with kids and he'll help you carry the telly away. Raised with my girls and he guarded them and did stuff i never taught him.

Sorry JC I think I am thread stealing.... Sorry . Am I doing the wrong thing? Tell me straight up.

No Spot...that(spot) was the name of my first dog, when I was 4..... the gas man stole him. my dad chased him down the street.

That was in Sydney in 1958. he was white, with black spots, on him.

Your remarks about your dog Jack ,remind me of an ex'GF's brother who had the best purebread Staffie, called "Boot's" as he was jet black but had 3 white boots on. He was humane, reincarnated, I swear!!

They had no kids, and he was their baby, lived inside, sat in the front seat, went everywhere, and loved/guarded all the people he knew.
We would go to visit, and they wern't home, Boot'swould try to stop us getting back in the car, he then sat on the footpath and cried, he wanted us to stay.

One Christmas we were at a party at their home, her brother and I were talking about Boot's and dog's he started pushing me, wrestling me and shouting at me, Boots was crying, and getting inbetween us. he said "try to hit me with this paper" he had one rolled up, I took it off him and went to raise my arm, Boot's had my forarm in his teet in mini seconds, draged me down but didn't hurt me.
He knew and loved me, but he loved his master more, so he did the least damage, to protect him, as he was caught between the 2 of us.
If I was a real mugger, I would have had no arm or face within 30 sec's?

The sis in law, fell pregnant, everyone asked "How will Boot's handle it? what are you going to do?" Boot's had been their Baby for 4 yr's,many pet's get jealous.

They had the baby, a healthy big boy..555

Boot's was still inside at night, watched TV as usual etc. If the baby woke, and cried, Boot's would go into the main bedroom and shove his nose into the wife's face and chest to wake her up.

7 or 8 months later, we are at a BBQ for someones B'day at their house, everyone was busy in the kitchen, the men outside drinking and cooking. I realised I hadn't seen my mate Boots for a fair while, not like him to miss a party. I got a bit concerned, and went inside to ask GF if she had seen him...No... then I heard, a faint wimper of pain, I follwed it into the lounge room.....

There was Boots, legs spread, his whole body covering the baby, who had hold of his private parts, and was continually trying to pull himself up and try to stand, but bumped into Boot's chest and fell down gigling and trying again...... when I walked in Boots looked at me with those big black eye's, with a "Please Please get him off me". How he had endured the pain and not bit the baby was way way beond normal.

JC you are making me cry again 55555555555555555555555555555555555555

555 Jack used to have Maddie riding him around the yard and dragging him by the tail and jumping on him etc. He never flinched. When I took him and the girsl to Red Beach at Bribie where you can walk out for a hundred plus metres in Knee high water, he would go birko when the girls went in, 5 and 7 year olds, and would take things in hand by swimming around them while trying to herd them back to the beach. once again this was in him and I never had to teach him how to shepherd my daughters. Should see him around my Dad. When he now follows me and won't leave me I start wonderring whats about to happen, with Dad, whenever Dad's ticker is playing up Jack will not leave his side. If Dad has a lay down then jack is beside dads bedroom window or Jack will open the door and go in and lick dad then lay on the floor beside Dad. Sureeporn, Mook and most Thais I know love their dogs, little seg way back to TD.. 555
