    Las Vegas

Since we have done 6 trips to Thailand over the last 30 months, we have decided to make a change in October and go to Las Vegas. I must say I am looking forward to it, but I have made a promise to return to Thailand again early next year.
I am not sure I am ready for burgers and fries everyday, and the all you can eat buffets, but I am sure I will find an Asian restaurant somewhere. 555.
The night life looks very busy there and I am sure most things will be more expensive than LOS, but I am sure we will find plenty to keep us amused. ;-) Annie.

Hi Annie, I went to Vegas in 05, after the finish of my ten year de facto relationship. Spent 7 days there and partied pretty hard and had a lot of fun, catching up with people I had met in the US ten years previous. A definite do one time thing for me, but don't see myself going back there again.

    Annie,
I haven't been there, want to.
From what I have heard from high rollers... Kerry Packer...(Name dropping 55)
it is best seen at night not by daylight. Like most glitzy places, walking street, Bangla road etc.

The sad side is out of Vagus, there is developments of hundred's of house's that have given back the keys.
I watched a report on it, and the people left everything, even wedding photo's, big screen TV's.

The company's had guys going thru the homes and just throwing everything in a dumpster. It was so sureal.

It is not our first trip, we have been a couple of times. The last visit was about 4 years ago when we toured the West Coast area. Things have changed there since then, what with new hotels on 'The Strip' so it should be interesting. We will probably hire a car to do a few trips, Death Valley was my favourite so we may head back there. Annie

I don't know why, but Vegas would probably be one of the last places on Earth I'd go to... 555

Why not tour the coastline of New England... or lose yourself in the wilds of North Dakota? I have never seen the attraction of Vegas...

    Annie,
You have previous experience there, so i'm sure you will work out where to go what to see.
Me I'm a gambler, probably wouldn't make it out of the first casino 55555

I am sure thats the kind of trip hubby would like to do. Maybe when we are a little older. 555
You can easily escape from the 24 hour madness of the Strip and by hiring a car you can reach some fantastic places. Also, one reason for us to return is because we are hoping to meet up with some American friends from our last visit.
We are sure to return to LOS next year though. Annie

It is a great people watching place and I am fascinated watching the big spenders in the casino's. We do have a gamble each day but we set very low spending limits. I hate to lose money. 555

Not sure if this too far Annie, but Lake Tahoe is a lovely spot where the town splits the border, one side (Nevada) you can gamble, the other California (you cannot)

I wish i had low limits.

    I won't tell you what i use to blow a day/week/month.

I once played alongside Kerry and James(he was young) Packer.

The min bet was $5k max $50k, I managed to win $47k, Kerry... I think about $1,2M... James wasn't too good, i think he lost $300k.

It took 2 days for me to loose or give away my winning's. That's life!!!

NB: I had started the day/night with $2k on other tables till he /they came in and changed the limits.

I took the $47k home, this was after my divorce, spread all these $100 bill's on the bed and jumped onto it, then had my then girlfriend come round and we did the deed all over the notes. 55555

    Great story jc.
I suppose you have to gamble big to win big. $5 on red or black is my kind of gamble. 555

Lake Tahoe is slightly too far for us this trip. We have never been to Northern California, but so may people recommend it, with a trip to Yosemite and the wine areas. Maybe if we win a fortune we could stay longer and do the North also. 555

one of the best trips in the US I ever did was Vegas, drive to Reno, Tahoe, Yosemite, San Francisco, down Highway ONE to LA, onto San Diego and then out to Palm Springs before heading back to LA to finish up. 3 weeks all up
