I am allowed back on my pushbike now, will help build the leg muscles, maybe a few more weeks and I will be back on my Harley 555

Harley have introduced a few models to suit people that are not so tall, you might already know they make the Harley Davidson Fatboy and also a "Fatboy Low"

    Love the photo.
I have a Honda XR 250, but my first love is DUCATI, I have a S2R 1000 Monster at the moment and I love it.
Whatever you want to ride is OK by me, cause it sure beats walking

    Ya Kha! Harley Davidson nah????

Have you seen the new Piaggio 500cc scooter? 3 wheels and way more cool than mid life crisis Harley... Why be like every one else and get Harley, black open face helmet, Black leather vest, leather streamers off handle bars, can only ride with cruiser sun glasses and not allowed to smile, only frown and try to look tough while riding the boat anchor.......

Then you have to pay for the extras like Tattoos, remove mufflers.... High heeled leather cowboy boots, And the mandatory skull face Bandanna thing beacasue you cannot wear a full face helmet on a Harley...

    Sorry Rivo... Mate.... China.... 555555555555

I have often wondered why people would spend so much money on a bike and then so little on a helmet?

I was looking at a new Triumph Boneville the other day and to me it is far more appealing.. But i do suppose it is just a matter of taste.

When I hear a Harley idling, it always reminds me of those field days when they have old single cylinder stationary engines sitting there shaking and going phhtt, phhtt, phhtt.

Unlike Spot, I'm not going to apologize Rivo :-P

Unlike 1080, I can't afford a Ducati Monster, even in Aus, and I certainly can't afford one in LOS.
When I move over to LOS (next year I hope) I'll be happy with a Kwaka ER6 and/or a Honda CRF 250L

    Big difference in performance there?

Maybe the new (when it`s released) CBR 500 would be good for you?

Yeah, that's why I said "and/or" Lew. Ideally, I'd like both but the budget won't stretch that far

I'd be happy touring with a ER6, Ninja 650 or Versys but would like to explore the back tracks more. Not necessarily full on offroad like you NOBs do but just pootling around exploring. Wouldn't mind heading over to Laos too.

Actually, I'm not sure about the Versys. I've happily done many 1,000s of km around nth Thailand on ER6s but I was really tired after that one day on the versys when we went to Doi Ang Kang.

But this is all a bit OT. Probably should be on the MB thread.

    @ Spot 555

Our Victorian Harley Riders sound like they set the example Spot, I have a long way to go then, Ive no Tattoo's, no leather tassles, or cowboy boots, I have changed the mufflers though. I am one of those who believe in Loud Pipes Save Lifes which is another debate. Although mine arnt super loud.

Out of all the motorbikes I have had over the years which is many, none come close to getting the resale value as a Harley Davidson will, I can only go by my experience, in 1997 I had a 1994 HD Dyna Wideglide, bought it secondhand for $21 000, kept it for 3 years and put quite a few KM's on the clock, I did look after it very good, when I sold it it was as good as the day I bought it, I sold it privately for $20 500.

The 2005 Roadking I have now I reckon I could get what I paid for it a couple of years ago, other brand bikes just dont hold their value over time.

^^^ You cant be serious Spot 555

If I had to ride a 3 wheeler I would be looking at the Can Am Spyder, they make a brilliant product, as you know I have a Bombardier DS650 and its been very reliable. Here a pic of a Spyder.........
