First reaction to this was "ridiculous!"
But then I saw it was in Punjab, and reported and condemned by Indian Punjabi's.. So maybe more propaganda than news..

The story reminded me of my fathers war stories...555
My dad was born in 1939..
His parents were a farmer girl and a city boy.. My granddad worked as a tool maker in a technical factory... So they lived in the city..

The first thing what happened when the Germans occupied Holland is that shops were empty.. Supply lines cut of, the Germans taking what they needed for their soldiers..
So, poverty and hunger were instant, not only at the end of the war!
The city my grandparents lived in was about 30 km from the farm of my grandmother's family farm.. They had crops and food, and were able to hide from the Germans..
The Germans depended on the farmers for their own food supply, so they were somewhat easy on them, and the farmers knew they could hide some of their production..

My granddad rebuild the baby carriage to have a secret compartment below the smelly diapers, and so my dad became one of the youngest food smugglers of WW2..
Not for long, good Catholics as they were he privileges soon went to his younger brother... 555

Have you seen Band of Brothers Rak? Just wondered what you made of part that featured Holland?

Yes, I have seen that.. A while ago..555
I liked the series, and think it paints a pretty accurate picture about the war..
But as all war movies or series, they focus on the soldiers..

I think in any war, the story of the civilians is way different, and their is very little attention for them, during the war or after, or in any historic review or movie..

Yeah.. I liked to see Carice painting her moi as well.. 555
No..Serious, it is a good movie, but still it does not picture the fear of the common people during a war..
This Dutch movie shows it better in my opinion...
