    What's Your Favorite c0cktail

Dovetailing off the wine thread, I figured I'd start with a favorite ****tail thread. Recently, I have been hooked on ****tails with ginger beer as a base ingredient. The most basic is the Moscow Mule but many other ginger beer variations have shown up.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy ginger beer (non-alcholic variety) in Patong?

My favorite is the Yule Mule:
    1/4 oz lime juice
    1/4 oz cranberry juice
    2 dashes orange bitters
    1.5 oz citrus vodka
shake with ice and pour in highball glass then top off with ginger beer.

What surprises me in Thailand, is that no one has closed the gap between c0cktails and shakes yet...
Both are very common, fruitshakes being non-alcoholic and all fresh, and c0cktails being all instant..

Tried to close this gap myself a couple of times..555
A coconut and lime shake with rum is more refreshing and less sweet than a pina colada, and a great drink at the end of the afternoon...

That does sound good, especially on a hot day.

    ^^I have a long history with c0cktails..
The bar where I worked as a student (large outside area summertime student hang-out) did not really do c0cktails, but customers often requested..
So the owner did a c0cktail of the month... Staff could make one up, and after staff meeting we all got to vote (but mostly drink..555) for next month's favorite..

With a bit of taste, you can make up your own easily..
My experience in Thailand is that the shake makers are quite open to compose anything for you, as long as you can explain, and are willing to pay..555
Nothing like c0cktails with fresh fruits (or ginger..)..

20 odd years ago in my restaurant in a cineplex we devised a range of alcoholic milkshakes.
    They were very popular.

I am a Long Island iced tea guy myself, but after 3 of them I usually remember nothing, so I tend to stay away from them in LOS
