    I'm ready, are you?

When the fecal hits the blades, a question. Are you ready?

What have you done to be ready? Gas mask? Or an anti-MERS device?

    ^^ excellent !!

My point on this thread is, if the info-structure of your county breaks down, how would you cope?

No food delivery to the stores, no one to keep the power on...ect..

I enjoy these. Do you remember Lil started something similar a few years back when he was convinced Armageddon was imminent. Bunker in his back garden full of tinned food... though he is/was convinced it was going to be an economic catastrophe that brings on this situation...

To be honest... I'm not very well prepared at all... whatever the cause is... I'll be one of the first to go... I don't even have baked beans.

    It's ok... found the answer...

Creating an End of the World Survival Pack - Primer

    The Pocket Kit
This kit, assembled by Chris McNab (SFSG, 17), won’t save your life during the Apocalypse, but it does fit in your pocket. Having this every time you head into the wilderness, or leave your base camp, is a great idea. Essentially, this pocket kit is part of your larger kit that never leaves your side in an emergency.

A waterproof container to house your goods
    Matches
    A candle
Flint/striker or other non-match based fire starter
    Sewing Kit
    Water purification tablets
    Compass
    Signaling mirror
    Safety pins
    Wire saw
    Fishing line and hooks
    Plasting bags
    Snare wire
In the wilderness, your primary concerns are going to be water and heat – hence multiple ways of creating fire (and light) as well as ways to make drinkable water (tablets or boiling). This kit is useful to have around at all times, but for the real deal Armageddon, you’re going to need a lot more stuff.

Edit. Just realised Ian Forbes is the least crazy of all of us... 55

Since 2004 good white folk in South Africa have been readying themselves for the coming Armageddon.. Digging shelters, stocking up on toilet paper, tinned food, ammunition and candles. Well it has not happened yet despite the predictions of the imminent war and decimation of their tribe. The sell by date has come and gone for most of their hoarded stocks.

Live for today, because tomorrow is just a dream.

I needed the capital and sold my cabin in the Sierras about a year or so ago. It's a small community of five parcels, gated and a LONG way from traffic. No one ever goes there, and the people that will find the place post-pandemonium will not understand the lay of the land. We will. And oh yeah, your welcome to join, just bring ammo and Bic Lighters!555

Again, I'm not fixated on the 'bugout' senerio. I put together bags for my sons and I (even mom!) years ago. Just one of the many insurance polices that I have I guess.

It's not a silly idea... I'm just not sure I'd be too bothered about living if the world had come to that...555
