    Some old cars (or new)

Post your photos of your old cars or even your current drive.

I will post a few of some hot rods I have built and owned over the years.

Rivo just before the exhaust what you are seeing ends is a cut off plate that is easy removed. Then it has 3inch stainless twin pipes that go through the chassis and out the rear. Will see if I can find a photo. Yes licence with the pipes but out the rear.

Funny thing was when I took it for rego the inspector was too scared to drive it and passed it anyway. It was a handful to drive. He needed to grow some balls. 555

The engine was originally built in 1954 and was a 331ci Hemi. A old fella called Bob St Larance built the motor along with Aaron Dearing. Both these guys race in alcohol and Bob is well known with Hemi,s and drag racing with a Hemi dragster call St Train for many years. Unfortunately Bob is no longer with us.
These guys got carried away a bit with the engine originally injected (photos attached) and running on alcohol. Not to good on the road and pocket. The injection was replaced with two 750 Blower carbs.
A guy called Rob Thompson found the motor and all the parts in the USA and we replaced just about everything. If it wasn't replaces we made it. These old Hemi engines are very hard to locate even in the USA and very expensive. A farm fresh 392ci is around $7,500 US

No I dint get to the show was busy with Nicky and thought it may boar her

Rivo attaches is a photo of the rear and you can see the rear of the exhaust. Even with this it sounded like a bunch of Harley going through the North bridge tunnel. 555

I have video but I dont know how to upload to my post.

    Assume Ozzy.

For many years i lived in Coolangatta/Tweed heads and each year we have the "Wintersun carnival" a week and a half of Rock and Roll bands, dance contests and Hot Rod's, Classic cars. It was 2 weeks ago.

Some of the cars come from as far away as USA, I have to take my hat off to you guys, all the work to restore/rebuild and then the looking after...I never have the patience for anything like that.

JC I'm not one for the up keep, endless polishing and going to a car show on a trailer. Got better thing to do. However I do like to go fast and make a lot of noise on the race track. I don't go fast on the streets.

Tomorrow when I get to my computer I will post some photos of another car I had. This one was my first hot rod but just far to much cleaning for me.

The rat rod style is so much cooler. As I don't like cleaning it suits me to 555

I also had a 36 dodge coupe. I never finished that one but the idea was the body in rusty old steel look with a super charged 502ci Chev pruducing around 800hp. Will try find the photos.

Rat, or old style has become popular of late.. Cars that you can drive without being concerned about the $50,000 paint job...I was at a car show last year when a guy pulled in, in a just completed rat-rod. You should have seen the crowds that quickly came over to take a look..

This is the 36 Dodge coupe that I started. The plan was a Rat rod, no paint job just a supercharged chev engine, fat tyres and lots of noise. Never finished this one a guy offed a load of cash so I sold it.

I have built a few rods and bikes over the years mainly for myself.

When I had my body shops we pained a few as well. Our main core business was accident repairs but we sneaked in a few rods from time to time.

I have also built a few ride on racing lawn mowers. 555

That was something I never found out. I found this at a swap meet and from what I was told it came from a old tractor.

The original cab on that one is a 1942 ford jail bar truck. As you can see I chopped a lot out of the roof pillars.
