Any sign of ya getting married?

Dont know if its just my age ( 35 at xmas) or because ive had a few family gatherings lately.
But people seem to keep asking me when am i getting married- mostly aunts, uncles and friends - it can get annoying after a while +)(*&
Got the idea from another thread "Do forum members have an advantage over civilians in a debate?"
Do any of you guys get it often-What do you guys say? -
Just a light hearted question really (;-)

I was asked something similar the other day .... I said I was never getting married again .... I think that was the safe answer since it was my current (and 3rd) wife who was asking ...

Hard to imagine going thru your entire life without at least once giving a house to someone who hates you....

    Enjoy...

Take your time. Do ron. The next question will be children. Many will testify the greatest gift you can receive. Until the child support!55555

Like Minder said find someone you hate and give them a house.

    Ken meets barbie.
Barbie says I want a big house with all the trimmings.
Ken says okay, I will work hard for this.
Barbie says you do not spend time with me any more.
Ken says Working hard barbie for the sparkles you want.
Barbie says the children now are too much you need to do more to help out.
Ken says what exactly do you want me to do to help you.
Barbie says stop working so much.

I think there are 3 major reasons why a lot of people get married.

One is social pressure, which you mentioned. And there's a lot of it! And it's way worse for women. So thank fuck for being a man.

Then there's fear of loneliness. This is a biggie. Some people prefer a bad relationship to no relationship. I've witnessed this personally, and it's fucking sad!

The third is biological impulse. The drive to reproduce. Which is far more subtle and unconscious.

I'd say around 50% of marriages are a result of 1 or all 3 of these. And non of them are good enough reason to make that kind of commitment.

So when the time comes, it's pretty important to lock yourself away for a couple of days to sit down and have a good think. If the time came, and I knew I was doing it because I wanted to, and for no other reason, then I'd go for it and wouldn't have any regrets no matter what. Just as long as you're in it because you want it.

Fuck what people say. Fuck society. Fuck the system.

You're the man. You do what you want, and you do it only because you want to.

Yeah,..."it's what you gotta do whether you like it or not."

Bit like walking into a car yard and being told you gotta buy the ugly Valiant hiding in the corner that supposedly likes you because that's all you can afford 55

Marriage is a religious thing isn't it? I don't have any religious fanatics in my family... so the question has never been asked...

If you are talking about over here in LOS DoRon - easy reply is "marriage not good for me/you before - I want us to be happy".

I think people hold marriage up as some sacred thing
And I do think it is special in one way, but not as special as people think in other ways

When I got married, it wasn't some special "I met the love of my life" it was more practical of "we fit together and make a good team"

I was married once and after the divorce, I promised myself I'd never do it again. After the failed marriage, I proceeded to live 25 years, happily unmarried with my Oz GF. She's still my best friend.

I don't see the point of marriage - even when children are involved. Certainly in Thailand there is even less reason for it - better to rent than buy.
