    Hostage selfies

This really needed to be its own thread

What the Fcuk have we become as a society that people are taking selfies outside a building with hostages inside and a life threatening incident going on.

I saw a person sitting on the engraved names at the WTC site taking a selfie and I thoght they were horrible people but this is something else

There was a whole article written on the psychology behind selfies. Low self esteam, attention seeking, etc.

The thing is when I 1st heard this story I just said "morons"

But then I really thought about what they were doing
They were taking selfies outside of a building where people were on the verge of getting killed
Just think about that for a second

Round em up and swap them for 3 of the decent folk inside the cafe... . then see if they still want to take selfies ...

Same as in Los taking close up pics of bike accidents then doing a pose pointing to the brains on the road. Sick fcukers and as in Los when I have seen it happen I wouldn't think twice telling people I see doing it to fcuk off

"Selfie stick" must be brand new for 2014.
    Inappropriate "Selfieing?". Selfish, thoughtless, uncaring.
Bit like the "Planks" that did the "Planking" a while back.
And where the hell was Biggles.....?....when you needed him last Saturday....?

I don't use Facebox or twitster so I am happily oblivious to what goes on with the dipsh1ts.

I agree Marc there needs to be some re education about sensibilities. The cretions have no respect, it has not been taught to them by their parents or piers.
But take a photo of them falling down drunk in the gutter with their clothes and hair all over the place and watch how quickly the lawyers are called.

You can't teach empathy. It's an emotion that only people that haven't been raised on social media possess...

Unfortunately I see a lot of self taught empathy.. that materialises as patronising condescension...

So what if it does though? That's kind of saying people shouldn't think and feel the way they do. But they do. It's reality, it's what exists. Still a far cry from the dark ages, or even 50 years ago. You can't expect the human race to become rational and compassionate over night. That's if the species as a collective is capable of that to begin with. Part of being rational and realistic about the world is accepting the fact that we're just a bunch of "civilized" chimps, and may not even be yet fully equipped mentally to live in complete peace.

Because it's the exact opposite of empathy... imitated empathy is a horrible habit...

Chimps imitate. Thanks for pressing my point.

Your problem is believing everyone should be good and perfect. Pigs will fly before that happens. Except reality and you'll live in a lot less stress and pain.
