    Alcohol consumption of board members

I haven't seen a thread on this , but would be interesting to discuss.

How many standard drinks do you have a day, week, month (what ever apply's)

We will use the Australian standard of A standard drink is any drink containing 10 grams of alcohol.

    Which as a drink is

285 mL of full strength beer (4.8% alc. vol)
    375mL of mid strength beer (3.5% alc.vol)
425 mL of low strength beer (2.7% alc. vol)
100 mL of wine (red - 13% alc. vol, and white – 11.5% alc. vol)
100 mL of champagne (12% alc. vol) 3
30 mL of spirits (40% alc. vol)
275 mL bottle of ready-to-drink beverage (5% alcohol content)

I will start, I would be 4 a week, of Irish whiskey, it's the only alcohol I choose to drink these days or a maybe a very good single malt.

Maybe twice a year I would have a few more and drink 6 in sitting.

2009 to Dec 2014, about 4 beers a week, occasional vodka, Pernod. Since then, nil, due to an illness, ok now but chose to cut it out.
Easy with a (mostly) non-drinking partner in what is almost a 'dry' town, amphur Tha Mai 9000 people not one bar or pub, and many restaurants alcohol-free as well. The Twilight Zone.
    Never found out why
15km away Chan city has a few bars, but not many. Even has a nightclub, named Nightclub. I hope they didn't pay the ideas man too much for that.

I would have 3 to 4 drinks a Friday night, first is a beer then a few reds. Sunday afternoon is much the same.

When on holidays its more but mainly beer and most days.

I'm not a big drinker these days, rather get up early make the most of the day.

I am definitely in the "binge" class....I can go with no booze for a month or two and then have a night out with friends where I drink 15-20 vodka sodas....I never drink alone and hardly ever at home unless I have people over for dinner

On average I would say I have a night out once or twice a month these days

Ive cut down these days due to heart probs and would have between 15 to 20 beers a week. Prior to that I would have given Mark a run for his money 55, easy 50 plus a week.

Would have been more interesting to have included a poll; dunno if you still can.

As for me, one or two, occasionally three drinks (usually wine) when I am out, a couple or three evenings a week, though there are weeks when I don't drink at all.

In the UK don't drink much at all, can go weeks without it. I find even a couple of after work beers used to make me feel below par the next day and eat crap. Blow out tho when on holiday.

After I come around after my heart attack and found I had to have surgery, the surgeon said to me that one standard drink in Australia is based on a middy of light beer 285ml (appx 2.5%), and my consumption was to not exceed 2 per day. It was then I decided to do an inventory of what I had drank during the day that I had my heart attack.
Taking wine and beer into consideration, having been out for a long lunch and then dinner and drinks at home after. It totaled something in the region of 25-30 standard drinks for the day. That was not somethhing that I mentioned to him at the time.

Before my heart attack, the weekend normally started on a Thursday night playing darts, drinks Friday night, Drinks and/or lunch/dinner Saturday and Sunday I would imagine at least 20 standard drinks a day.
I do remember buying 4 x 500ml cans of Carlsberg Special Brew and there was a health warning on the top advising that each can contained 3.6 standard drinks, so nearly 16 standard drinks in 4 cans. Not to be drunk by the faint hearted 555555

I've slowed down a lot, but I can easily do half a bottle of jacks or vodka a night. Or a couple of six packs. Plus all the binging on weekends.

1/2 a bottle of red 4 nights a week nothing the night before a big ride and more on a Saturday night.
But this is a bit seasonal and it depends on the level of riding which is higher in summer so alcohol slows.
Drink beer sparingly love it but it's no good for you in quantity even though I love it and rearly have spirits.

I haven't had a drink since Xmas day , I go for weeks without , then have a binge night out ( eight to ten pints of strong beer , then onto the vodkas .... ) , if I go for a meal then wine , on holiday is the only time I drink for a sustained period of time , then its usually Vodka Soda and maybe couple of ****tails starting around eight or nine in the evening

when I was younger drinking was part of my job ... well being entertained anyway ... I would be out most lunchtimes and evenings , then all weekend with mates , after 30 the hangovers started really hurting and attitudes at work shifted , so happy coincidence for me
