    Interesting tidbit.....Soda/Cola vs water

    I was surprised by this...
This is the 1st year that sales of bottled water surpassed soda/pop/coke sales.
I honestly would have thought it would have at least 5 years ago or longer.

You almost never see anyone with a can or bottle of soda anymore.
It would actually be weird to see one drinking soda at work with their lunch...no one does it.

I do like a nice cold coke from time to time with pizza or something

Quite a few students at work drink soda... smart kids but have no idea about diet... already fat and getting fatter.... they are addicted to the stuff like smokers are to smoking...

I drink a lot of water at home but to buy water in Australia is nuts. More expensive than petrol. A can of soda, twice the cost of petrol ???

Yeah they put like a 400% markup on basic food stuffs here and no one says anything.

I drink a can/bottle of Pepsi Max/Diet Coke most days with lunch up at the beach...if they don't have the No sugar version I will opt for a soda water with lime...

When i look around at other tables there most people are drinking the full sugar coke, those lipton ice tea drinks + beer and shakes....all of which are all full of sugar....I'd say water and non sugar drinks are only about 20% of what gets sold on the beach here...the rest are glugging the sugar down...and I am talking a mixed age/nationality of tourists here

That is very surprising.......I mean the US is hardly the picture of health but you hardly see anyone drinking soda( well, at least in the big cities)

I do like a nice orange Fanta sometimes in Thailand
And I like a coke here when I eat pizza or something

And don't be fooled by the sugar-free sodas... where the artificial sugar replacements are a danger themselves...

Knowing where you like to eat, I doubt if you dine at McDonalds. Just about every meal is served with a Coke or sugar soda of some sort. Same with most other fast food outlets.

I enjoy a Coke or Pepsi occasionally, but I never buy bottled water unless I'm in Thailand... where I'm pretty much forced to. I have such great water at my home in Duncan there is no need for bottled water. I can drink it right out of the tap... and I drink a lot of it. But, I absolutely refuse to drink tap water in Victoria. It has a terrible chemical taste... even after run through one of those filter systems.

Otherwise I drink fruit juice which I know has lots of sugar in it. But, I do have a sweet tooth.

The only time I opt for a sugary soda is in Thailand. I justify it because I am knackered by the girls, booze and heat. I like the strawberry Fanta...

I've gotten into the thai habit of drinking water with a feed most of the time.
    It's easy and convenient.

I do that 90% of the time. I add a bit of lemon juice to the plain water to add a touch of flavour. In Thailand I ask for a 1/4 slice of min-ow (lime)

    Haha...the red Fanta.
Seen at bar where it was left high near hot lights and the slight evaporation was seen as proof that Buddha was partaking 55

I've often seen TGs lay out food for Buddha and an hour later take it down and eat it.
One time I was even given the King's Regency brandy.
