    Freight Aust to Chaing mai

Anyone know a transport company that will freight Perth to Chiang mai and what the aprox cost would be.

I just realised my flight only has a 1.5hr stop in KL and it takes longer to collect oversize sports equipment in KL and re check in. Air Asia you have to check back in at KL.

    Parcel size is

    1200 x 900 x 300mm
    28kg

Probably a bit late now. Post could take weeks... If ever,to get there.
Do you mean you have to collect and recheck oversize? Obviously normal baggage you don't.

With connecting Air Asia flights you need to collect your bags and check back in at KL. I have done this trip lots of time with my bike and it takes awhile waiting for oversize to arrive in KL.

My flight is on the 17th March and we didn't book any luggage at the time of booking as we normally travel light if not with bikes.

However a mate brought a bike in Perth and asked if I could take it to Chiang mai for him so some now I need to get it to CM.

    No worries.
I haven't had to collect luggage at KL for a long while now.
Book HKT to OOL or CNX to OOL and pick it up at Coolangatta as they transfer it straight over.

Fly thru with checked baggage all the way is pretty normal Ash, surprised if you can't do same. Alternate is to change to a later CNX flight or send bike AirAsia air-freight at extra cost.

Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting: holy s.h.i.t what a ride!

From Perth I always have to collect in KL and normally get the later flight. Maybe its because it is oversize.

The guy that brought the bike lives in KL. Do you know if I just left it at oversize in KL would he be able to pick it up if I stuck his name and address on the box?

AFAIK, If carried as your 'baggage' then only you can claim it. Best idea is contact AirAsia freight division and get a price for unaccompanied 'baggage'.

Have you had to show ID when you've collected it before? There's the key 55

What about when you book to go to LOS with AirAsia in the past.. Do you book 2 legs to get to CNX or just Perth to CNX?

One has to gain access to the baggage area OR show PAX ID and baggage tag if collected within 7 days. 3rd party cannot collect.

Perth to CNX flights appear fly-thru with a ~2hr15m layover.

Perhaps Ozzy booked 2 separate flights to get on an earlier CNX leg? I note there are few brief layovers remaining available for mid march.
    Cheers, Rob.

No ID required......55 You just hang around at oversize and wait for it to come. Same when in Indo, Philippines , America and Canada. Not really safe.

I book just Perth to CNX but select a KL stop over of about 3 hrs.

I'm actually flying to Bangkok first for a few nights. Had no intention of bringing a bike at the time of booking so just carry on.

I booked OOL- DMK recently. Layover was 2.5 hours at KL. I didn't select anything else. That's what it gave me and won't see my checked baggage until DMK

Just assumed over size would be the same.

Just called Air Asia, looks like Perth to DMK the oversize will go through.

Not sure why it didn't go through when I go to CNX, maybe I did two separate booking's.

I'm in Bangkok two nights has DMK got a locker area big to leave this box in a few days before going to CNX. Save dragging it around the bars....55

Ozzy have a look at this, only when I 1st started flying Air Asia did I have to collect bags and check in again, all my recent ones I have had bags through all the way
    Fly conveniently & hassle-free | Connecting Flights | AirAsia
They used to not connect you on any flights that were less than 3hrs when you had to collect and check in again, but now they will do on flights upto 90 mins. Anything over 90min they will not allow
