10-12 years...really? Showing my age ... I guess that was around the time they stopped you sending your passport on its monthly Visa runs without you ...555

    Seven deported

Cambodia expels foreigners jailed for 'pornographic' party

Phnom Penh: Seven of the 10 foreigners arrested on pornography charges after a pool party in the Cambodian tourist town of Siem Reap have been deported, a court official said Monday.

The group of Five Britons, two Canadians, a Norwegian, a New Zealander and a Dutch national faced up to a year in prison but their lawyer sought and received bail for seven of them on grounds that they had not organised the party.

    And then there was one

Two more foreigners arrested in Siem Reap 'pornograpy' case released on bail, leave Cambodia

    15 February 2018

Only one foreigner remains in jail in Siem Reap for allegedly producing “pornographic” content after the release of two more suspects earlier this week.

Lawyer Ouch Sopheaktra said the two received bail approval on Monday after submitting a request last Thursday. They were released in the evening on condition that they leave the country.

“The two are Norwegian and Dutch and flew home on Tuesday,” Sopheaktra said.

The pair were detained along with nearly 80 other foreigners at a party in Siem Reap at the end of January. All but 10 were released that day, with the suspects held on charges of “producing pornography”. Seven of them were released on bail and flew home last week.

Sopheaktra said the court had not decided whether or not to proceed with a hearing – despite those released having been required to immediately leave the country. The last suspect, a British man, remains in prison, he said. “We don’t request bail for this man because in the reports he was the one who organised the party, so if we file a request they won’t let him out.”

Siem Reap pub crawl trial date set for Britsh party host
    06 March 2018 | 00:00 ICT

The lone foreign national still jailed after being arrested in January alongside nine others at a pool party in Siem Reap is scheduled to see his case tried in court on March 15.

British national Daniel Jones is facing charges of “producing pornography”, after Siem Reap anti-human trafficking police arrested the revellers at a pool party linked to a pub crawl called Let’s Get Wet.
All of those arrested besides Jones, 30, were given bail on the condition they left the country. No credible evidence to support the “pornography” charges has been provided by the court or police.
Court spokesman Yin Srang yesterday would only confirm that the trial will take place on March 15, refusing to comment further on the case.
Immediately following the arrests, the National Police released photos of men and women in sexually suggestive positions, but fully clothed, with the suspects and their lawyers saying the images were from another party that took place years earlier.
One of the partygoers, who was immediately released after the raid, told The Post earlier this month that the party had not involved any nudity or drugs.

    One more day

    Tuesday 20 March 2018

Daniel Richard Leeming Jones, 31, one of 10 people arrested in late January for “pornographic dancing” at a pool party in Siem Reap, has been sentenced by the Siem Reap Provincial Court on March 20. He must serve less than a sixth of the one year sentence.

Yin Srang, spokesman for the court, said: “The Siem Reap Provincial Court sentenced Daniel Richard Leeming Jones to one year in prison, but he is only required to serve a jail term of one month and 22 days [from the day of his arrest] and the remaining sentence is suspended.”

This means that, providing the prosecutor does not contest the verdict, Mr Jones will be released on Wednesday, March 21.
