Give up watching sports or music for a year??

    Which one would you choose?

Obviously some people don't follow sports that much so an easy answer

I love music but there is no way I'd give up watching sports for a year

I could easily give up music for a year... sport... no way....

What about for life? Would that change the choice?

Given your music tastes a year would not be long enough 555

As for me, 10 years ago music. Right now sport. Getting bored with most of it.

The ONLY reason I have television is because of sports. I can't suffer through all the ads on regular TV programs. At least I can cook an entire meal when the ads are on during a game. I love music, but can live without it. Thankfully, we don't have to choose. We can pick the best of all world's entertainment... which also includes fine dining... or just going out for coffee with friends.

I think a better question is... could you more easily go a year without sport... or food? ..55

    Tough question!

I am a huge sports guy (like Ian it's the only reason I still have cable TV, otherwise I would have ditched it for Netflix and Crave long ago) but I love music even more. I know I'm in the minority here, but I would have to give up sports for the year.

If you are talking about on TV yes I would give up watching sport over music.

But would still be playing sport.

Surfing and cycling have a lot in common from the types that might take up either.
Both can consume, be extreme in endurance and danger.
plus can be a type of meditation giving one self to the moment or the process.

I'm like you, 40 & years but I gave it up 12 years ago.

It used to be almost a religion and I have said before, sitting out the back waiting for a set was always like sitting in MY church, just waiting for God to speak to you with an answer to anything you asked.

I am so happy I was involved in it in the early days, 1966 and having the great gift of surfing without the terrible crowds and wave rage that goes on now.

As Moo Uaon pointed out, we like a bit of danger. It keeps the blood flowing and the mind alert. Essentially, it keeps us "alive". That is why I love riding a motorbike.

That is like asking if you would rather be deaf or blind!

    Only logical answer is Neither!

Honestly, in the choice of deaf or blind, my answer would be death.. Wouldn't want to live (now) without ability to communicate. Maybe that would change after the event, but I doubt that..

As for music or watching sports.. I am in the car for hours a day, so I would switch music channels with radio sport channels.. Sometimes I find the radio sports more exiting than when I actually see what is happening.. 555

There are some great radio sports-commentators, who can make even the most boring game exiting..
My dad would put the Tour de France on on television, with the radio for comments..
Theo Koomen, may he rest in peace, was the Tour's voice in Holland.
Still get goosebumps when I hear his comments...
