    Jobs that no longer exist

Jobs that no longer exist or have changed a lot!!

Wife and I discussed this last night. What jobs can you think of that we now don’t have or have just changed a lot?

One she came up with was the shoe shine guy outside the school shinning all the kids shoes in the morning.

Print setter in the printing industry. Book binder. In fact pretty much everything in the printing industry... Ask my unemployed brother.

I look at my CV from 20 years ago and there is absolutely nothing on it that I still do. And I work in the same industry. Technology changes just about everything we do.

Photographic/film processing is no longer a mass production factory job.

Home wired telephone install is nearly redundant.

Interestingly though, one might extrapolate the 'Rawleighs man' into Amazon/eBay/Alibaba ... similar direct sales concept in a digital age.
    Cheers, Rob.

This is one of the things I like in LOS and the Phils the guy filling up the bike. Like its easy to do it yourself but its nice to have someone do it and not having to go in the shop.

Still very much the norm here, where you have large populations it seems silly to automate what can be a job and way to survive for many.

Very much the norm here, in fact I would not have a clue on how to fill up my own car 555

Your place looks a lot happier than mine Pete.
I have had three altercations in my local shopping center in the last month.
Maybe I am just a grumpy old carn these days but the rest of the people seem more grumpy than me.
    Anyone?
    And yes, Be Kind, Rewind.

NYC still has tons of shoe shine places and it's sort of part of the culture

I hate we don't have any shoe shine places in Vancouver

And their cobblers suck here..........we still have good cobblers in Boston

How much for a shoe shine in NY? Serious question.
I remember the old movies when there was a shoe shine boy on every corner.
