    signs in Thailand

I quizzed my ex TGF about this on my most recent trip to LOS.......

Every second sign post or advertisement banner that is seen whether it be street side, highway or even shopping centers are either text written in English or English/Thai. One will even ofter see Thai nationals wearing T-Shirts with English Text/Decals printed front, back our both yet............ but the majority of Thais cannot read English to "save their lives".............

When asked why, the ex TGF just shrugged her shoulders and replied "Dunno".........

Google translate is good for maybe ONE word. After that forget about it. When my Thai kids post something on Facebook I look at the translation and I'm just as lost as I was before.

No parking between 8.00am and midnight.

Not even couples dating can park here.

That reminds me, on my first trip to Thailand, my motorcyle was wheel locked by the police and and received a parking fine. I later found out that on certain roads, the time of day dictates what side of the road a person can park on 55555

^ one day one side ,the next day the other.
So if you're out at night you need to change from one side to the other at midnight where it's sign posted.

Bin der, dun dat... as have all of us who ride in Thailand. Fortunately, it is seldom more than a 400 baht fine, but the inconvenience is a pain. 555

Basically the signs say that parking on that side of the road is prohibited on even numbered dates but is OK on days with odd numbered dates. The same applies on the other side of the road in reverse. If you change sides every day you can still get caught out in any month with 31 days as there will be there will be two days in a row with odd numbered dates. The cops love that.
