It is maddening and I've tried all kinds of fly traps and such

It's not like there is anything bad they flying to that I can eliminate

Right now trying to watch hockey there is legit 12 flies
    Driving me crazy

I've searched all over the internet for 2 years

Paul have you got fly-screens on your windows and sliding door? If so how are they getting in?

As it is your summer you will find flies appear everywhere, it's the warmth that incubates them.

i have the same problem, I moved into a new 1 br place with new security/fly screens but the flies are still finding a way in.I am chasing and killing, with spray, 4-6 every day. I can't find where they are getting in and it pisses me off.

What is fly spray to "non environmental" these days !

Strange as i was just thinking the other day how i dont notice flies anymore, like there just isn't any.

I remember when i first got here, working outside you could count 30 of them on your back, they will weigh you down .. occasionally you would swallow one if you hands were fill holding tools etc .... the drove us crazy .

What happened to all the flies ? .... wondering if something is going on like the bee issue

    They moved to QLD. 55
Was sailing up thru shoal water bay area, 60 nm offshore, and a swarm of flies descended on the boat. They'd been blown offshore by a strong norWester. I guess you'd call them blow flies.

Do they appear in other apartments in your building as well? eg what about the smelly Indian lobby guy? Invite him in.. and they may follow him out.

No screens, actually because we don't have mosquitoes here, ironically

Back east you need the screens for mosquitoes

I don't think it's getting weaker. It's just like antibiotics, it keeps breeding more resistance. Eventually there will be flies that can feed on a big Mac and survive.

TT just the normal black bush flies. Mostly small ones.

we have had unseasonal warm weather and even the plants are flowering as if it is spring so I guess the flies think it is as well.

Those flies in the OP's apartment are most probably circle flies.

Generally if you are above 4 or 5 floors off the ground, you don't get mosquito's or flies and so don't need screens.

Paul if you don't normally get flies and it's a one off then there must have been something to change it. maybe people living below you had something that attracted them and then they have come up to you.

Spray em and see if you get any new ones back.
