    Halong Bay Cruise

Ok......we are just batting around ideas for where else to go in April when we go to LOS.

And I am thinking of a Halong Bay cruise, 3 days and 2 nights.....something I wanted to do for a long time.

    Has anyone done this?
Is it really crowded with a ton of boats in the bay?

    Thanks

I've done it twice...and yes its really crowded in the Bay with lots of one day boat trippers...its a real bunfight at the wharves as they embark/disembark....but if you do a 2/3 day cruise you get the bay to yourself early in the morning and later in the afternoon

here's the one I went on last time....it was fabulous

    Indochina Sails

yeah, tourist city, crowded, leaky ol tourist junks. monkey beach some of the most agro monkies i've seen.

we stayed on cat ba island (where the boats cruise to from halong bay) and i did the whole thing in one day and stayed on the island in decent hotel for $10/night.

Yes we would do one of the luxury 3 day 2 night cruises
That sounds good that the crowds thin out for parts of the day....

I don't mind it being crowded during the day when going to activities but if quiet in morning and late afternoon that sounds great

    You think we'd like it?

Thinking of Paradise Luxury Cruise with amazing balcony

We're booked on this one for November > https://www.aucocruises.com/halong-b...d-figures.aspx

Was highly recommended by friends although they didnt rate the shore excursions.
    Cheers, Rob.
Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting: holy s.h.i.t what a ride!

That is also one I was considering actually, between that and Paradise

I was just reading trip advisor for Paradise and never seen almost unanimous excellent reviews
