Ok, ok..........I will probably never end up going 555 but thinking about it........I like to try and hit a city in Northern Asia I haven't been to yet
Anyone been to Shanghai before and would it be worth it for just 2 days or so?

Northern Asia is expensive..... Flight wise in late November
I wanted to go back to Tokyo for a few days and last time it was real cheap....not the case this time.
Beijing is only serviced by 2 really crap Chinese airlines from/to Vancouver and there is only nightmares so I'd rather avoid them.
Only way Shanghai came up was booking a flight YVR-BKK and return Shanghai-YVR
I will take Air Asia X one way to Shanghai
How about nightlife?
Is there any type of mixed bars/clubs?
That's what I liked about Tokyo.....a lot of mixed places to go out to
Lots of KTV bars full of single Chinese girls. (And guys.) I was there about 5 years ago would say its changed a bit.
When you say night life do you mean p4p or just in general?

Try fligh to HK first. Its a short flight to Shanghai from HK then you could do a few nights in Macau. I think Macau is more your thing.

I sure hated Shanghai airport. No internet unless you have a cel phone with a Chinese phone number. For my 6 hour wait in the airport I had to sit on a plastic seat. I was lucky that a young women had a cel phone and she was able to get my laptop connected to a fishing forum in Canada. No chance of surfing the internet. No Google or anything that even remotely has any connection with world policy. What I saw for sale in the airport was limited and expensive. I flew China Eastern airlines and will never again do so. I'd rather pay another $500 dollars to fly with anyone else.
Loved Beijing loads to see there very good night life spent 3 weeks was not enough and I would love to go Shanghai at some point
.
Was in Shanghai last month...been quite a few times, and will be back again in December. There is plenty to see in a couple of days.
There is some good night life...plenty of clubs along the Bund, and elsewhere...western prices, and a bit pretentious for my liking. Yet, a fantastic view and setting. I snapped a couple of photos from Bar Rouge on the Bund (see Random Photos thread).
