    What you have learnt

I think this has being touched on b4 and without getting to carried away with the "how good are these thai girls, and the nauseating type threads " i was just gonna mention in very brief 1 line form what i have learnt or discovered about myself since meeting JK nearly 3 years ago.

I think Jonty mentioned that he felt that Dao had made him a better person and i am starting to think the same way. I am surprised how much i have learnt from this supposedly unworldly 27 yr old and here is just a few brief examples.

How not to waste money.........yep being doing it all my life
How not to waste anything.......yep being doing it all my life
How to keep some money for another day
How to be more patient ...not be in hurry my love
How to lengthen the fuse, and then how to put out the fuse all together...not be so angry my love
How important it is to start each day with a big smile on your face
How a little bit and a little bit and a little bit of something does actually add up to something big!!

Most of these things of coarse i already knew...but knowing them and actually doing them consistently on a daily basis are worlds apart........well not anymore!!

    Anyone else learnt anything?

Some things my time with Mrs M has taught me:

    1. The bleedin obvious isn't
    2. Time is an illusion, being "on time" an impossibility
    3. Dreams can be admitted into evidence against you.
    4. Color co-ordination means using every color at least once.
    5. You save 10 times as much if you buy 10 of them.
    6. You always have to yell into a telephone.
    7. Multiple conversations means everyone talks at once.
    8. Always cook more food than you need.
    9. Being right can make you feel bad.
    10. Toilet paper is a multi-purpose item.

    Enjoy.

    Love isn't always enough...
Be secure in who you are...
You don't NEED someone else to feel complete...
A woman should be a bonus to your life... not a requirement...
Making other people happy is enjoyable...
Thais are people first and Thai second...
Being happy yourself can be contagious...
TGs do learn from you... much as you think they don't..
You learn from TGs... much as you think you won't...

If you love someone... set them free...

A decision or plan has many physical states (Gas, Liquid & Solid) all change with outside variables.
Getting Dao to press a suit for a business meeting means I will be late for the meeting but be the most Hansum man there and everybody will know his wife takes care of him good.
It is good economy to pay an extra $50 a night for a deluxe room with a spa bath because it can also be used as a washing machine.

    The big ones.
More tolerance and more understanding of other people.
You can actually have a close functional family with the above.
Self Respect and therefore mush easier to respect others.
How to dust yourself off no matter what life has handed you and make a go off it by being positive.... Do that little extra and smile inwardly and outwardly.
Let the past go but keep the lessons.
Talk "soft" with children. Let them make little mistakes but be there quick when it happens and still talk "soft" This way they trust you and not make the big mistakes.
Being generous does give your heart a great feeling and it does have away of coming back around in many different forms but you cannot keep a balance sheet and should not want to.

For me sometimes it is hard to put into words JM i echo what you say in part.
For me Joy is a challenge at times and challenges me to be better.
True to herself and expecting people around her to be the same.
Who ever you choose to live your life with if they do not make your life better...Then keep moving she aint the right one...

I have learnt that we are fortunate to be in the country and circumstances we are in. However I feel Thai's, all of them can teach us leasons in happiness, and acceptance. many times I felt humble when being with the people in the non tourist areas, I haven't had a lot of time there, would like to spend much more.

My ex TG was a very western thinker for a Thai. Which is what appealed about her I guess. I remember one of the first things she said to me... "I not like other Thai...." she had learnt to be very self-sufficient as both her parents died too young...

I have learnt a lot of things that have already been said above but would like to say that with Noy I have learnt to live again... Before I met Noy I was suffering servere Depression to the point I wanted to end my life at one stage. Noy has made me realise that I can be happy again and can enjoy day to day life. I now look back at my life 2 years ago and can't believe how much my life has changed around because of this person

    Enjoy.
