AUD$70 for a Stat Dec now.

    350% increase!
Who'd have thought the CPI had increased that much since 2000. 555!

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!

Hi all this question is aimed mainly for gazmac in your original post you say you give them your divorce papers well i only have 1 stamped by the federal courts stating i am divorced i know this sounds a bit silly but i just want to be sure i have all that is required when i go to the embassy as its a long way to get anything ,the other thing is the girl went to find where the embassy is yesterday so we know where we are going ,there moving in june 555 thankfully a staff member came over and spoke to her asked what she wanted and she told them her boyfriend will be coming here in october and thats when they told her that they would be moving to a new premises in june .Will keep an eye on the website for there new adress the girl was told and she said she knows roughly where it is so thats one bonus .

Look for the the words DECREE NISI OF DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE on the paper, that is all you need. Family Law Act 1975 is correct. Take the original with you, blue stamp.
And as for the Bloomers for the wedding, not that bad 555

1080 is Correct Crispy ! Decree Nisi is the paper you need !
If you don't have it , you should be able to get it from the Family Courts ! I asked my ex wife if she had a copy of it , and she did . So I borrowed that and off i went ! Check with ex , she may have a copy if you don't ! 5555

    Not so in W.A.
As I have posted before, The Family Law Act 1975 is administered by the States and procedures can vary widely.

I am divorced in W.A., petitioned by my wife (I told her she had to pay if she wanted one.)
    It was by mutual consent.

My Divorce Order is labelled just that .
No Decree Nisi declared in W.A.

thanks gazmac ill have to contact the embassy i think to be sure ,changone it aint gonna happen no happy pants ! zab now im really confused as i said before ill email the embassy but i think you might be right as it states the date of disalusion of the marriage will take place and warns if you marry before it comes into effect your commiting bigamy .As i said in another post it is stamped by the federal magistarates court and is called a divorce order my first mariage had just that a nisi decree obsolete but the last one didnt the only thing i can think is the greens cracked up about the ammount of paper being wasted and said you only need one sheet to say "your divorced " thanks for your help guys appreciate it .

    Vive la difference!

Mine was heard in the Family Court of W.A., not the Court of Petty Sessions - maybe that's the difference
Was yours contested or by mutual consent without lawyers?

I've just re-checked - simply "Divorce Order" and no mention anywhere of "Decree Nisi"- in 2011.
It's definitely the judgement and Final Order taking effect 1 month after.

Just to be clear (I'm an old Latin student), Decree Nisi is not the final order.
The final order is a Decree Absolute. One usually leads to the other though.

Changone , mine is actually marked Decree Nici Absolute at the bottom of the page ! I just didn't want to put the entire document up on here lol .
Zab , yes it was a mutual consent without lawyers ! maybe there is some kind of difference somewhere , but only Bhudda would find it 5555
