I am only new so can only give a small insight.. First trip I do not have Thai wife so touristy things...... Well I idid not go to be a tourist I went to have a rest from divorce and to get soem breathing space away from my troubles back home. I was finally accepting an invite form one of my best mates to come and stay with him and his Falang family in Phuket.

Next trip engaged may as wel be married and 28 days in Isaan and did not wnt to see another falang....

Tourist things? trip to temple with my Yai (Grandmother).... and my new family? Well they do what I would do in In Australia and show me around...

This trip? first Time BKK, just get off the phone with S she cannot get train until day after I arrive......

Maybe I just sleep and wait for her at motel...... I think this is what I will do... Will get back to you Nong Dao Khup.

When I was seeing one particular TG I visited her 6 times in a 2 year period, with trips varying between 3 weeks and 3 months. I visited her village a number of times and also travelled all over Thailand with her... going to tourist and non-tourist areas. I used to really like it in her village. So relaxing...

derail alert... - Spot, you should go to floating market or some shopping mall and get flowers/gift for her before she arrives.

I've actually thought about this topic many times in the past... and I think 3, maybe 4 times a year is appropriate, especially in the beginning.

I have many friends whose wives are originally from Korea and the wives get very homesick.
Whether I married a Thai or Korean or any other race, if she was outside of the US and was mostly alone, I would go with or let her go back at least 2x, if not 3-4 times a year, minimum 2-3 weeks per trip, at least the first few years of the marriage, to do whatever the heck she wanted to do....

We go to Thailand 4 times a year for the last 6 or 7 years ... 10 to 14 day trips ... both for family and tourist area ... we got to BKK to visit family and we have house in BKK ... usually we take a little trip for a few days .... Pattaya, Phuket, Ko Chang etc.

When I was "courting" Mrs M I was back and forward so often that some of the staff at Perth Customs knew me as well as most BMs here do ...

    Enjoy...

Many people dont have the flexibility with their work and incomes to visit much.
A couple I know come 2 weeks a year at best.
They just have to be content with that...

I am actually glad I have time to prepare for Sureeporns arrival in BKK, all at once might be too overwhelming for my nerves..... get some sleep and get sorted. Its the usual last minute rush that frazzles me... Looks also like floods may interupt our plans again.................
