Have You Learnt Anything From Your TG/Wife

This thread is not about how good TG/Wives are, or how smart/wise they are, because like all races and cultures they have their failings, but also like all races/cultures you can always learn something from them.

JK is 19 years younger then me, yes i believe being older, but probably more so what i have done in life i am wiser then her in many fa cites of life, but i have still being surprised at what she has taught me in our time together.

And the biggest thing i have learnt from her is the simple concept of keeping SOME money.....or SAVING in farang terms...5555

I look back at the money that has passed through my hands over the last 25 years and its scary, i WAS a chronic waster of money, easy come and easy go was almost my motto.....although i knew the old saying "pay yourself first " i just never put it to practice....i now tell my kids i could have partied just as hard, done just as much, but if i had just throttled back 10-15 % on what i was wasting my money on, my situation now would be a lot easier, basically a lot less debt.

So i am a changed man when it comes to money, and i owe all that to JK's wisdom of keep SOME money....i think twice now, do i really need that ?, is there a cheaper way to obtain that, nahhh lets save that for a rainy day.

So that's my big lesson, and some or most of you probably wont relate to my money wastage issue...5555 but is there anything other valuable lesson you have learnt from your TG or wife

    Good thread topic Sydney.....

Me A has taught me patience and the enjoyment of the simple things that I was always to busy to see.

I have given up smoking and try to limit the stress and eat better. You have to love yourself first, she told me. I want to spend a long time with you so love yourself first. The look one her face was so serious when she said that......I thought I had better do as she said, not up to me 5555. I feel so much better in body and mind.......

Yeah i would say that's another biggy for me, having a younger wife soon makes you realize that you need to look after yourself so that you can be around a lot longer...55555

How long ago did you give up the smokes and how has that being for you ? Well done for that !!

She is a double edged sword on the front of body shape..Pushes her finger into my belly and goes bom poi and then goes have you eaten enough I just want to look after you.
Bless. My wife she teaches from honesty without agenda, blunt to the point and said with love.
A spade is really a spade and I know when she is unhappy from this we live so much more in the now....people pay thousands to learn that!
She is teaching me patience and to cha cha she makes me look at life people and everything in a different way....More connected less selfish I think.

I gave them up the day after A went home, as good a time as any. Hard Sydney, no patches or pills just cold turkey. I will be honest and say I have had one or two when I feel it to much but have quit a pack a day. My sister is into alt medicine and therapy's, gave me a list of cleansing diets, liver, blood etc. I have just started the liver one and can't say yet but I smell better ( other people say, non smokers) I taste better and I feel breathe better, but that will take a lot more time to say .... Now don't laugh but she told me to buy a juicer, 55555 I will leave that for others to comment on, 55555.

Now I hope all you Sydneyites are battening down the hatches. We had this last week and was not nice. Have only got the internet and long distance and mobile phones back on as the main telecom cable was washed away down near Bundaburg, bad there above record flood level. Have to see if any feedback from Dao or Condo.

I quoted this here for two reasons,
1 This is how I see A and her direct honesty. If you can't be honest in love the when can you be. I can't wait to develop our relationship to this point.

2 Walking a lot now and a bike soon, rode one for years and will be good to ride again.

If I've learned anything from my Mrs, it's probably not to stress so much about the little things in life.

People often quote the "mai bpen rai" attitude of Thais. Sometimes, probably too often, it's seen as a negative. But for me, it has definitley been for the better. I would say I've always been a bit of a worrier by nature. I always need to have a plan for the most boring of day to day things in life. Never liked change and prefer to stay within my comfort zone in whatever I do. My wife has taught me that it's often so much easier to just go with the flow and see what happens.

It hasn't been easy to change my way of thinking, and that part of my personailty will always be there. There are still times when our different attitudes cause conflict between us. But I'm defo more laid these days and I have my wife to thank for that.

Hi all well i have learned that it is ok to pick your nose while talking to someone over the net ,apparently this is ok in thailand but i had to tell my t/g that if she were to come here not so good idea ,she understands that we are different .Not being to thailand yet i ask her to get as many photos as she can to show me where she work, live and shop ect .We have talked about subjects like what not to do out in public ect ie dont touch children on the head all the usual dont do things ,i have tried to teach her english and she is at a standard where we can have a conversation but she is still shy to talk to another farang in case she makes a mistake ,she has taught me that to give is better than to recieve.

Certainly an eye opener but then they frown on people openly picking their teeth with a toothpick!...can`t work that one out.

Very well spotted Crispy, I think most I have spoken to on skype, msn etc have done the nose pick at some stage, and some not just a small one 55555.
Although in return I been told off for biting my nails and swearing at my new tablet I had in Phuket last year when it would not work.
I was told, not speak bad like that when I am here, that not good and then got a big glare when I laughed and asked why she said that.

Yeah that's true. Here in the UK my wife carries a pack of tooth picks around in her bag because they are not put on the tables in restaurants like they are in LOS. She was pretty shocked at that actually. That said, she doesn't think twice about letting out a huge burp after eating at home 555
