Well, i got some insight to their goodbyes
Ao said they dont really like to say "goodbye" because it Sounds like you wont see them again...

And she says something thats Sounds like this spelling:

Can Nee Ka- which she said means "that's it"

Good story. I think there is confusion on both sides about what is proper. Thais are very conscious of proper form and etiquette, and they don't want to offend us as much as we don't want to offend them. It is one of the things I love about the culture, but it leads to some funny situations. One tiny sentence out of order can lead to some confusion and even anger.

Luckily, my daily phone calls to and from my girlfriend are short. Not much time to make too many mistakes. Just a few giggles and laughs, and a couple of "I miss you" replies. None of the drama like when I was leaving for 7 months. I"m surprised she understands as much as she does.

In the beginning I was saying "Goodbye" But that I had to stop saying. My GF took this word as I not would come back. Mostly we use the word Bye. or See you soon
