10 Delicious Thai Dishes That Are Rarely Found In Western Thai Restaurants

On the Engaging Thailand Tips blog this week I featured an article on Thai dishes that are rarely to be found in the western Thai restaurants. The dishes are the favourite dishes of my guest Bussaba Chumnumporn ( บุษบา ชุมนุมพร ), nickname Kung. It would be interesting to know how many of you have sampled these dishes.

My ex TG used to regularly cook me something similar to this... bloody delicious!

My only experience was in a pie making factory managing the gravy team

What I like about Thai restaurants is, when something is not on the menu, they will still make it for you if they have the ingredients...
On the other hand.. When it is on the menu.. No guarantee that they can actually serve it..555

I like rad na with mee gob (fried noodles) as much as the wide, soft ones. Crunchy fried noodles add another dimension to this simple yet tasty dish. S&P do a very nice rad na koong sod - consistent quality and taste throughout Thailand!

    Cheers, Rob.
Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting: holy s.h.i.t what a ride!

Really spicy Larb Gai or Larb Moo. Always have to ask for spicy and even then most times not anywhere near as hot as some I have had in Thailand and how I want it.
Have taken to cooking it myself so as I can have the right amount of hotness that I like.
