Haddock lightly battered I ask for... has to be freshly cooked or isn't the same...
My only experience was in a pie making factory managing the gravy team

Cant remember when last I had a traditional fish and chips parcel here. Grew up on the stuff like most have but just not getting craving for it anymore.

Thai and imported Chinese potatoes are great for everything except fries. Hence the imported frozen packs of USA/Belgian/Dutch chips in Makro and supermarkets.
    Cheers, Rob.

Love Nando's... none available locally unfortunately so I make my own using this recipe. Not quite the same but nice enough.

I have friends who are very unadventurous when it comes to food. Plain and bland is what they are used to. Albie puts most meats into a pressure cooker, he has no front teeth, and boils the shit of of everything else. His wife Debz, is a little more curious with food though. She bought some Thai Green Curry paste, Valcom brand (yuk) and chicken breasts, I would have thighs as I believe chicken breast should be cooked like steak.

I managed to find some tinned bamboo shoots and added kaffir lime leaves off my tree and fish sauce. I tried to make it authentic as possible with what I had on the day. I used about a 1/4 of the paste normally used and it wasn't to spicy for them. They did season it with a fair amount of salt though, as they do with most things. I thought about making one from scratch, making my own paste although that would be a waste of effort on that lot.

Went down a treat except for Albie who made himself some lamb chops lol.. cooked them from frozen. What a fuck that it was.

They asked me what I was going to make next time....

    Still my favourite lunch.

    Som tum cab gai yung...

    Costs 100 baht.

This one was in Chaweng while I was away.
    Cost 150 baht.
Probably the only thing in Samui I found that cost more than in Phuket.

I found some in a mini Tesco in Chaiyaphum that looked like Agria I use in NZ for making fries. Yellowish flesh. They worked a treat, fucking expensive though.

I'm filling in on friends cleaning crew this weekend. They are off to Brissy for the sons 30th. We have three crews on Saturday and Sunday, me and Sherylynn from Phillipines, Daphne and Pai... two attractive Maori lasses and Carol with Mykaela, Brazil and Kiwi.

I've been drafted to make deep fried whole fish with a sweet and sour the Asian way. Fish being the price it is here I told them I would cook it but they had to buy the fish.

Well. I like my food and that was a good pizza. I've had better though, and worse.

It was not worth taking a picture of, but my local supermarket had a sale on fresh pork, so I bought a nice slab of pork loin, the same as I do in Thailand. Then I covered it with some Asian sauce and nuked it in the microwave for 6 minutes. Then I sliced it into thin strips, put it on my favourite alpine grain bread, along with some extra sharp cheddar cheese and fried it in a pan on the stove to melt it all together ... sort of like a hamburger. Bloody great eating and tastier than most burgers. Then I ate it while I sat and watched weekend sports on television: football, World Series baseball and some hockey and basketball mixed it. The classic North American couch potato.
