Bloody great feast, Ian. I know some Thai ladies that would tuck right into that... but without the bread.

Beer samples and a good old beef burger by the torquis waters of Broome at Matso's brewery.

    Their mango IPA is sensation.

    Beef? What's that? 555

I haven't had beef in months. Here in Thailand it's all pork of chicken for me. In Canada it's usually venison with some pork fat. I make my own burgers, but with a wonderful multi-grain bread instead of a white dough bun.

That meal above looks bloody marvelous. 55

There is a little Thai cafe down the road called "Good Steak", where I eat regularly. He barbeques a lovely pork steak and adds a nice salad for 45 baht.

Long way to go for a beer and burger 55 ... very tempting tho.

I found an excuse to visit NZ next month ... oysters, truffle chips and lamb roast here I come! [30kg of supplies of shopping list for return flight - 7kg carry-on for clothes ... lol]

It was a nice day today, so work was mostly off the menu. Something a bit more civilised for dinner. But not before a couple of long islands 55.

Nice scenery around this restaurant, so we dropped anchor and been here for fecking hours now.

Unfortunately we were downwind from these camels. Man they smell!

Inexpensive Lamb was something I loved in New Zealand. It costs an arm and a leg in Canada. Way more expensive than beef. I have a friend who is a hunter and a bit of a butcher. He knows some local farmers where he gets lamb and pig. The farmer doesn't like the killing because the animals he raises are sort of like family pets. Matt does the killing and butchering and gets to take home some of the meat. Matt is also a good cook and i often get invited over for a meal. Occasionally, I help Matt with the butchering and together we get it done quickly.

They have high frequency sonic devices around some establishments to deter them. It works, but if you're below 40 years of age you can still hear them and they get annoying.

And out of all the benefits I see to aging as I get older, this has to be one of the stranger ones.

I no longer hear fucking mosquitoes either, and that is a blessing. I used to hate them buzzing in my ear when I was trying to sleep. Suck my blood, I don't give a shit. Just be quiet about it.

A result of being US Army occupied in WWII I am afraid...go anywhere in the Pacific Islands and its the same...there are usually a couple of spam dishes centrepiece on any banquet table..Samoa and Tonga in particular

I've had it in the PI as well....it aint exactly a healthy breakfast option...but neither is bacon, sausages abd fried eggs...OK for a treat now and then though
