Nahm is in the metropolitan hotel in BKK...and is right up there with my favourite dining experiences in the world....it is owned by David Thompson a world renowned chef who specialises in Thai food...he has been a friend of mine for many years...since he opened Darley st Thai in Sydney in the early 90's and i became a regular customer and huge fan of his cooking...i have also done several cooking courses with him and drop into his house in BKK when we are both there and we hit some great little street food places which he is always seeking out..he is married to a fantastic Thai woman and he also has sailors Thai in Sydney and the original Nahm restaurant in London....he is a very funny man with a very twisted SOH

i highly recommend a visit to Nahm if you are in BKK....it is superb....and take your TGs with you....but don't tell them until after they have eaten that a farang cooked the food 555

Top 100? I doubt I could afford to eat at the top 200. I'd hate to think what you'd pay for a cup of coffee at the top ten 555

Only had dinner in one of the top 100 places, and did not pay...55
But i have worked at a Michellin start restaurant here in Holland when I was a student, and although more expensive than your regular restaurant, I found the prices not rediculous..
Where I think you really overpay, is at "prime locations" and in airports and such.. For very poor quallity..55

Great stuff Bacwaan, will take A and my Sister for lunch at Sailor Thai. Just around the corner from Circular Quay and the menu looked Aloi Maak.

I have been to the Quay in Sydney on someone else's coin, but I get a lot more enjoyment from a Leo and a Pad Thai from a street vendor in BKK.

Not wrong. Can't beat a plastic table and some good street food!

I just had 4 months without beef, but also didn't have to cook for 4 months so not complaining. I thought CJ just didn't want to eat it herself, but when out for buffet, her sister ordered two hot pots so the beef could be separately cooked.

Got my fix in China...there must be a glut of Angus beef cheeks there...was one of two choices on four occasions.

Hasn't your Mia Bro learnt your favourite meals. 555

World's best restaurant? Hard to say.
I did go to dinner at the Al Mahara in the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai a few years back.
    A truly memorable experience.

I think it's a mix of the food, the location, the ambience, the service and the company you are with at the time.

I don't trust these top 100 listings so much because there are new restaurants opening all the time and being the best for one day is no good if you decide to ever go back. So my advice would be if you've been there and you loved it , please tell us because we'd like to share.

I think the company is number 1! Makes the ambiance, and makes the experience..!
