    Visa Agent - Phuket

Hey guys, wondering if anyone knows of any reliable/decent Visa Agents that will not cost me an arm and a Leg in Phuket. Noy's TV expires at the end of January and she will be heading home to Phuket to work for a little bit and catch up with family and friends. At the moment I am not sure if I will be able to travel back with her, I woudl like to but it depends on my Finacially situation at the time. If I do not travel with her I am going to give her all the paperwork to apply for the PMV. She is not confident on doing this herself and would like it if she could go to an agent to do all the finalising/submitting for her.

With previous Visa's I have done all the work and handed it in myself at VFS in Bangkok and has been easy enough to do. The PMV from what I have seen has a bit more involved and think it would be handy to have someone dot the i's and cross the t's, as well as a lot of them will almost guarantee it being approved.

If anyone can recommend a place to use that woudl be very helpful as i can start to commincate with them early in the process. Also any ideas on costs involved with using an agent would be great.

You probably want to consider using one here in Oz (cost around 4k), What I did was nominated myself as the point of contact, so all emails and correspondence comes via me... Personally I would say do it yourself, it's really not that much harder than the TV... just take your time with it.
The embassy will contact you if any forms are missing and like the TV you just drop it in at the counter and pay the money... just keep in mind 4k is a decent trip over to LOS and with the 12mth waiting time I guess you will want to get over there...
I have a number of a guy here in Melbourne that has been recommended if you need it.

I also have the details of the translation service at VFS centre... Thip uses them with all her documents, she is able to post them to them, they then translate and deliver to the VFS office and payment is made via her ATM card at the bank... very easy and useful!

I guess if I had the 4k I would be able to go up there and do it all myself... I did get to the translation place at VFS, so that is good to know, that they will send it on to VFS after doing the Translation.

At the time we submitted ours it was cheaper to pay for it in Australia over the phone, this is worth considering as you could post the application yourself to BKK getting Noy to sign the paper work before she leaves Melbourne... she could then send her house registration, birth certificate, etc to the translation service without even needing to go to BKK or an agent....
Just start working on her letter now as I'm guessing you will be writing it anyway and she will need to sign it... this is what I found the most difficult thing to achieve as well as getting birth dates for all the family members (I ended up having to leave her dads blank)... hope for your sake she knows her mums date of birth!....
Little tip, as the form can be filled out on the pc, do the basics and save and print out a copy... make a front page with a detailed list of everything else that you couldn't fill out... everytime you fill something out just put a line through it, it wont take long to complete...

I have not had a very good look at the whole thing yet. I just thought I better start thinking about it so I can do everything while she is here. She has all of her documentation here with her so thats another good thing. Why do they need translated copies of the Birth cert and what not this time and not for a TV? Would we send in the original documents to the translator of just copies? Sorry a lot of questions, would i just send everything on to the translator and then get them to pass it on to VFS?

I know there is another thread for this sort of info but how do we go at medicals and police checks? Do them before or after applying? This could be better discussed over a 6 pack, or 2 555

All forms need to be translated including police check... The police check will be the only thing she needs to go to BKK for but not required to lodge the application... The medical, these days you actually have to wait until they send you the request form (I received ours last Thursday) and also need to be fully translated... there are four hospitals you can go to... Chiang Mai, Phuket, Udon Thani and BKK... and this will cost around $500AUD...
You need to send originals of the Birth certificate and house rego to the translator, they then certify the document, copy then send the translation and certified copy to VFS and return the originals....
It did take me a bit of time to do with very little input on Thips behalf, all she did was supply dates and paperwork and sign the spots she needed to...

In short... the payment is the crucial thing (60,000bht) with the main form, all the other stuff can be supplied at a later date.... just keep an eye on the exchange rate and the immigration website, as they change the price according to the current rate... you can save yourself up to $200 by paying for it in Melbourne at the right time.

Have used VFS in Phuket when applying for TV, and they were very good and very helpful, and On was able to go Thai on Thai with questions which made it easy.

G4 PM Condo, he is an absolute wiz at all this.
He is a top guy as well and I'm sure between PBB and he, you will fly thru it.

Keep a note of all you do and how and when, I may need your help one day.

I would say by the costings of the fees alone, it is worth doing it yourself, with out having to find an extra 4k

I know nothing about PMV, but the following might be helpful.

I use a website called www.elance.com for outsourcing various administration and research tasks for my business. For example, I have a university educated girl in the Philippines that does work for me at US$6.60 per hour. And I get a better outcome than hiring someone in Australia, and without the headaches of staff management, government red tape, etc.

I also have a university educated (english major) in Thailand that has helped me with arranging meetings in Bangkok. I have not used her for translation work, but this is the main service she is offering. Her charge out rate is US$10 or 11 per hour.

If you want her details, send me a PM. I think it costs about $20 to set up the elance account, but then the only payment is to the person you hire, out of which elance takes 10%.
I won the sperm-egg lottery. Invest wisely, spend carefully and give generously.

I don't know if this site will help with the visa, look and see.
It is a freelance site, where experts in all things, bid for your business.
Eg. a guy woking for microsoft on web design will bid for your business to do a web site. He has the programs, the expertise and it's just cash for jamb to him, but to us it can save 1,0000s

G4 you can do it all yourself!!!!!!!!!

Sit down and take a deep breath...........

Print out all the forms especially the check list.

Go to Office Works and grab a clear sleeved folder, now according to the check list and in the same order slowly go through the check list. Try and do one item per day or every couple of days. Dont try and do any more or it will do your head in. One item per day!!!!! It took me 2 months to complete it properly

Download the Immigration documents and try and fill them out on the computer using Adobe Writer and then save them at anytime you like. If you need to make a change you dont need to fill them out again, just make the changes required and print when finished.

I'll PM you my number and you can call me...

Thanks guys for all the help and Info. The Freelance websites seem like they could be useful and I have added them to my favourites. I never knew anything like that existed.

As for the application, I am sure it is not that hard, from what I have seen it doesn't look very different to the Tourist Visa Stuff and I have no issue going through it myself, the issue I had was that I was unsure that I would be able to get to LOS to hand in the application myself. Noy has said she was not confident to hand it in herself so thought that the agent could make it easier for her to hand everything in. I am thinking that mailing it in could be the best way to do things now.

    G4,
    I told you !!!
Condo is the best, better than an agent, between him and PBB you will more than handle it.

Remember how I said, it all seems so stressfull, and we worry about failing, for the TV, well this is just another step up.
You have passed primary school with flying colours, now your going to secondery school.

No worries, you have a huge family to help with your home work. "Just do it!!" you will be able to.
