    Tourist Visa Limit

I have heard a 100 different answers - was hoping someone could clarify.
My GF has had two TV's approved - both for 3 months.
    She visited Jan-March 2012 and Aug-Oct 2012.

Would she be eligible for another TV or would immigration be expecting a PMV/PV to be applied for?

Quik i think we got the other answers down to there is no actual written rule for this, so it is a grey area for sure. And even when you ring irrigation you wont get a straight answer as they tend to deal with it case by case.

But there is a kinda 3 is ok but 4 isn't rule , and certainly within 1 year 3 is ok and 4 is impossible.

But you have to actually lodge a application to get the real answer, looking at your dates you will be fine for a 3rd this year in fact lodging in Feb i reckon you will be fine.

After that i would say you are a married man....55555555555555555555

    TV 1 July - October 2011, 3 months
    TV 2 Jan - March 2012, 3 months
TV 3 Oct - January 2012/13 3 months (applied for 6 was approved in principle pending Medical, which we opted out as would have delayed leaving and took 3 months)

I think it's a case of how many in a time frame..... so 1 a year over the next 10 years would be ok but 4 or 5 over 2 years would be classed as visa hoping...

You will be fine with 3 but pushing it with 4....

No it's all most automatic.... you apply for the PMV first and then hand in your TV (at the same time). I was told that they recognize the fact that the PMV takes so long to process that will give you a TV to shorten the time spent apart.

First 3 month Tourist Visa was in January 2012.

I also notice now they get an A4 sheet of paper with the details instead of the last 2 which were small like reciepts stapled in their passports.

That's right Rivo, my gf thought her visa got knocked back because when she got it back the first thing she did was look for the little bit of paper in her passport, but it wasn't there.

You can still get a visa sticker in your passport. just go into Immi office.
Takes about ten minutes. worth doing IMHO.

Commonwealth Government authorized "E visas" aren't accepted by certain state government departments either...

Two Thai girls arrived at Perth International Airport this morning, one being mine and the other one belonging to my mate, both through Visa/Customs without a hitch, my mate went through with them. None of the girls had to show their Visa Paperwork so obviously must be all Electronic now.
