2nd Part of Partner Visa to Australia

Help 555................Time has come to complete the 2nd part of the Partner Visa, just organizing all the paperwork now, if the first part wasn't enough 555

They have requested a National Police Certificate from the Australian Federal Police for Paer, I have completed the form and sent of for review, no problem, cost $42. Then they request "An overseas penal certificate for any country which you have resided cumulatively for 12 months or more since the grant of the partner visa" what exactly does that mean in simple terms ?

I've just submitted the paper work.
I went with the online option.
Still need to attach a few more docs but the bulk is done.

She hasn't lived anywhere else other than Australia for 12 months since the grant of the PV - so I understand nothing is required.

^^^ Agree, if she has not been back to LOS for 12 months out of the 2 years then not needed.

If she has been back in LOS or say even in NZ, any other country, for a total of 1 year out of the time then a police report is needed. If not then not needed.

Where has she lived since you lodged your first partner visa ?

If its Thailand or any other country for that matter, and she was living there for a total ( cumulatively ) of 12 months of more, than she would need a police check done in that country ...

If she lived in just Australia since lodging the PV ... then you don't have to do anything

As said above you don't need one from Thailand.
Make sure you spend time in describing your life together in Oz in your statement will ease the process.

I've been quite short with all my paper work this time around. Hopefully it does the job.
I would hope that the stats decs and 888s hold the bulk of the power?

You want to hear something weird?

The chef at Ao's restaurant has very weak fingerprints, they can't run police checks on her based on fingerprints

Dont forget the first 9.5 months of the 2 years is waiting for processing of the Visa (This time is included in the 2 years), then she has been back to LOS twice, is that now classed as a holiday from her home in Australia ?.............I have been to LOS on both occasions and the trips are holidays for me 555

    Good point.

I would think she hasn't been a resident of LOS and the trips were holidays, I think the basis of the question is for someone that has got the MV and then returned home waiting on the 2 yrs to go, it could be with you, so your both living in LOS and they want to make sure she hasn't robbed a bank etc.

Funny how it would be OK if she had gone over for 2 weeks and robbed a bank, no need for a police report 555555

Gee the time has gone fast Gav.

As long as those two "holidays" did not total more than 2.5 months you are okay ...... a total ( cumulatively ) of 12 months of more ......

Getting Mrs M's passport was the application process that nearly sent me "postal" ....

    Enjoy
