    Visa Options

    Upcoming trip.
Flying in and will get 30 days on arrival.
I plan to cross the border by foot into Cambodia at Poipet just 5 days in.
Coming back i will only get 15 days.
I plan to stay longer than the 15....

What would be the best way to go about it?
Get a 7 day extension in BKK 1900 baht - not sure if this is hard work?
Get a 60 day multi entry from Sydney Embassy - $275
    Dont cross the border 😊
    Pay the over stay

You're taking a bub? Extension based on it would be easy.or it was not born there?
Is a TV really that expensive now?

^ i mean when you return with the 15 day stamp. extend it,IMO.
for reasons of visiting your child you can get a longer extension but the kid might need to be on a house book and born in LOS to get it. local immigration office would be the way to do that.

you might get another 7 days through a normal extension.

haven't researched but will have a look later.

You can extend with 30 days at the local immigration. I have done that on my two last trips.

    You've extended a 15 day stamp by 30 days?

they only use to give a 7 day extension on a 15 day stamp. might've changed.

Would a 7 day extension at Chaeng Wattana take a good part of a day?

best to ask something like that on thai visa.

in CM i use to do that sort of thing late in the arvo and the place would be well past the peak period.
fill out the form and hand over the money and wait for your receipt is all that's required. in the instance you've quoted they'll take your money and give you 7 days to leave.

7 from the day you apply but you'd be best to go on day 14 in case you get turned away or they're closed or whatever,to be safe.

i'm reading $225 for a TV from Melbourne. that's a big jump from $45! that'd be the best way to go.

Firstly you are not getting a "visa on arrival" - you are getting a "Visa exempt entry".
Different rules apply to different classes of entry.
This 30 day entry if at an airport can be extended by 30 days at your local Immi office for 1900 baht.

Secondly, Poipet has been reported recently as refusing same day out/in entries (border runs).
If you're committed to the casino trip (that inter-border strip is a sh#thole) then you'll need to get a Tourist visa from Oz, a visa to enter Cambodia and then re-enter Thailand (this SETV can also be extended for 30 days at local Immi for 1900 baht).

You're best to stay home and take care of the bub IMHO - Thais can cross out/in with a 30 baht border pass, easy-peasy.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!

and that can be extended by 30 days at Sa Kaeo Immi as of last year (If he is allowed to cross without a Visa or Re-entry permit)
Going to the Casino strip in "No Man's land" does not constitute entering and leaving Cambodia, which is necessary at Poipet for farangs to re-enter Thailand.
    It's more complicated than that.

    I've done it twice now.
I get them to do the Cambodia visa and stamps. And then come back through and get 15 days via the Thai border crossing....
Extending the 15 days at the Sa Kaoe immi is possible?

It should be possible to extend the 15 day stamp by 30 days according to this site.

Visa Rules - Visa on Arrival, Tourist Visa, Non-Immigrant Visa
Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
