What is the procedure if you have a current Thai visa, ie, retirement, marriage or Non Imm type visa. Do you still need to line up at immigration, do you still need to fill out the arrival/departure card. Is it simply a case of the immigration officer viewing your passport and visa and the letting you in?
You need to fill in the Arrival/Departure card. For Retirement extension, it starts the 90 day reporting clock.

Same process as usual. Fill in the arrival card and it asks for a visa number if you have one.
PP control usually will look through your PP for a current visa and stamp it but having the number noted on your Arrival card gives them a heads up that you have one.

I read today that the British Embassy in BKK are to stop issuing letters confirming your pension income into a Thai bank account for visa purposes as of Dec 2018. It seems to have caused a bit of panic among those Retired expats who do not have the 800000bht lump sum sitting in the bank. They rely on a pension income of 65000bht being paid in monthly. The embassy will no longer issue letters
confirming this monthly income. Instead, Thai authorities will accept bank statements showing this regular income. Panic over . 555

^ won't be a problem if you can show regular income from a pension hitting your Thai bank account.
