    Here we go again !!

Just booked a AU $430 return flight from Perth to Phuket staying at summerbreeze hotel 25th October to the 30th October.

At that price couldn't help myself.

If anyones in town or any of the expats want to meet up for a drink post in here and we can organise!

    Happy days!

Just looking now, Jetstar very cheap ATM, good pick up. For the hunger pains, I grab a Chicken Roll at the Airport Red Rooster, ask them to cut it in half and it is a great tummy filler if you get hungry.

Just noticed Scoot already advertising Perth to BKK flights into 2014, but the layovers in Singapore are long.

I love Jetstar. I'm almost tempted to do it. But with accommodation costs and what I'll blow over there I'll have it tough in December.

Have fun, Jayjay! Envy you Aussies that live so close you can just pop over to Thailand for a just a few days! From Vancouver that would be just enough time to fly there and then fly back!! 555

Might be better to go Scoot to Singers, then hop another airline to Bangers, Phukers or Patts

Fly out 26 Dec with Scoot, then Tiger to HKT
Was dirtttt cheap compared to what I paid with Thai.

True dat, vanguy. I used my airmiles this coming trip (Nov 6th) and fly almost for free (just pay extra $250 for taxes). Vancouver to Taipei via Eva Air and then change to Thai Air from Taipei to Bangkok and then to Chiang Mai. I hate the 12 hour flight from Vancouver to Asia, but I'm too much of a cheap charlie to spend an extra $1200 to upgrade to business class. I just tough it out, but at least I have 5 months to recover between trips.

I am the same ... cannot justify almost doubling the fare for a bit of extra legroom. I never use drugs, but the first thing I do now after the early meal, is to pop a zopiclone, and then sleep for at least 6 hours. The 1am from YVR helps as well. Nice deal with the airmiles tho. I used to have an airmiles card, but after years of using it whenever I could, I barely had enough miles collected to fly from Vancouver to Victoria! 555 Guess I don't shop enough.

I hardly ever use cash in Canada and I purchase everything including food on my bank VISA. It's only one point per dollar spent, and it takes 75,000 points for an Asia trip, but, after about 5 years of saving I have enough for a trip. In Thailand it's the exact opposite (in just about everything) and I only use cash and never use my VISA except for flights within Thailand. If I fly Thai Air I get double points but I lose out by having to pay more than the cheaper airlines. If I know I'm going to have to wait around in an airport for a while, I prefer Bangkok Air because of their lounge. With Thai Air the lounge is only for business class. I usually fly from Chiang Mai to the Krabi area at least once over the winter, and to Bangkok at least once on my trip to visit friends in Pattaya.
