    Pattaya Nightclubs

What is the latest information re disco type places in Pattaya.
Mainly interested to know what is still there and going.
Would be good to know if you have been there recently and if you had a good time.
Are they Farang friendly, good shows, non rip off etc
    Some places like

    X-Zyte
    Hollywood Disco
    Marine Disco

    Or anywhere similar

    All recent info welcome.

    Thanks

Need some good band venues too. I think places like "blues club" on walking street are overrated and can be pretty ordinary, so looking for more talent than that.

I could not tell you the name of the place, but I usually stop off at a bar complex on Second Road close to Soi Diana where there is a band that plays some great rock.. Have a drink or two and then move on.. You can't miss them as they are at the entrance to the complex.
I am not much of a nightclub guy, both in LOS or at home, so can't really help in that respect.. I will be there the first week of March, perhaps our paths will cross???

I think I may also have been to that bar last year and now I think of it, they were pretty good.
Will be in Patts from late Jan to early Feb.

The lead guitarist has a long platted goatee (My Thai brother 555) and plays some mean licks. Pity that our paths wont cross....

    Yes, that was them.

I was a bit harsh on "The young man" Liam Morrison.
Just thought he wasn't trying too hard last time I was in there.
Just love some good live music.

That bar is where I met Jeab, I went in because of the live band

The only bars I found with bands, and it's awhile ago, the one above, one on the corner of 2nd Rd and Soi 11.

One in the Soi 7 complex, and one on Beach Rd in front of Soi 7.

There was one that always had a good crowd was cnr soi 1 and 2nd Rd it was really in soi 1 but could see and hear standing on 2nd Rd.

There was also bands in bars cnr 2nd Rd and soi 13 & 13a

I usually make it to Pattaya 4 times a year, but to be honest, haven't been to a club or Disco there for a while (tho' have in BKK and Surin).

I have never been to X-Zyte but believe it is gone now, though I may be mistaken.

Hollywood is still there, once again never been, but believe it is more Thai orientated.

The most popular farang Club/Disco would be Insomnia/I-Bar on Walking Street, many freelancers to be found, and very crowded last time I was there. Marine Disco is still open, dropped in popularity a while ago, but may have picked up, my favourite TG hangs out there.

    Enjoy.

Don't allow yourself to go to Baccara! They are all stunning, and also very expensive. Anyone else you meet seem almost ugly in comparis

I met and talked to Lam a couple of times on my first two visits to Pattaya, but he has been out of town or Not Play tonight on my last few visits.

My favourite music venue in LOS now is Boy Blues Bar in CM (No not a gay place, but Boy is the owner / lead guitarist of his blues trio..) Moo put me on to the place and I really enjoy bit there. I will most probably spend a few evenings there when I am in CM this time around.

Well I guess I'll know soon, four more days in the boonies first....Meanwhile,
It's quite surreal conducting a little bit of business on the Ipad from a marble table outside a wooden building with everyone else kin kow on the mat outside. Gotta love it.

LimaLima too, have't been to that but I think it's right there before Mixx at the very end of WS.

Mixx has two areas. The first one is all hiphop and sh*t which I don't like(or maybe that's not every night, but it was the night I went there), but still good for picking up. There's also a second area(not always packed) where they play other crap.

You gotta walk all the way right down walking street. Past the last bit of shops and that garden area to your right. Go past the second arch at the end that says Ling Live the King on the entrance side and you'll see a cafe to your left. Go to the entrance and on the left side you'll see a mysterious looking elevator. Press the button and go up. Half way up you'll start hearing the thump of the bass. When the doors open you're smack in the middle of the club.

Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.

The resident band in "Blue sky" bar on walking street have got that place rocking most nights.
Two different lead singers do a wide range from Kings of Leon to a fantastic rendition of Drowning pools "Let the bodies hit the floor" as well as other stuff incl some MOR stuff. Arguably the most entertaining group around right now.
I did look in at blues club to check out Liam Morrison but left after a couple of numbers. Not unless you are a real fan.

I enjoy iBar as a place to hang out with a small group.
Sure it's a bit expensive, but has a good vibe out the back.
PA members beleive the girl/boy ratio isn't great.

Chinese new year added an extra element to the vibe on Walking street last night with heaps of dragon dancing and fireworks going off. Nearly got blown up at least once. Thoroughly entertaining and good natured everywhere though.
