    returning to LOS

    Hi guys,
Planning another few weeks in Patong in January. really looking forward to it.
Any one of you know of the X-Bar in Kata - friend of mine said he enjoyed the place 555 but was too drunk to remember were it is. You got any ideas were it is ?
Also any idea were I can rent a decent motorcycle without having to lose my passport for two weeks? I ride a Harley but probably not available in patong.
    Cheers and thanks

    Hello,
I am unsure about renting Harleys. But i know of a bike rental that does other big bikes like Ninjas or such. They even deliver the bike to your hotel and only take a photocopy of your passport.

I used to ride in Phuket a few years ago on a Honda Shadow that I think spent the early part of its life under water from the Tsunami. Upon giving the bike back to the beach front crew they found a 1 cm scratch that seemingly devalued the bike to three times its actual worth. While the beach guy went to get his boss and the heavies, I rode the bike back to the hotel, got some black nail varnish from a drug store and did a touch up on the offending scratch. A bit of road dust once dry fixed the issue. Boss came to look at the bike and when he couldn't see anything he slapped the beach guy around his head and gave me back my passport so I could fly home later that afternoon. A close call that was.

Hey Dazza. Nope. Wasn't a jet ski but I've witnessed a few guys being seriously ripped off by the beach boys for "scratching" the jet skis.

I'm Irish. I can handle the jokes. That's why I ride a Harley so I can soak up the abuse.

I googled "Kata Beach Bar" and got an ad and a phone number advertising the bar for sale for 550,000 THB. So if you're cashed up you could soon be living the dream DS...555

Bike place on the hill, almost at the brow, going out of Patong to Karon on the left, had Hogs when I looked in but doubt anywhere would rent out a hog without PP security.
