Well it's not rocket science is it?
Responsible service of alcohol trumps outright greed.

....in any sane organised society that wants everything to run smoothly, so everyone can make money.
Not saying there aren't any mindless greedy bastards around, just that they're not good for business overall.

She said it was not worth the trouble, plus upsetting people already at the bar to even serve them. She would rather not have their business to save her all the trouble that they would have caused.

Clearly that wasnt my tgs cousin , Chelsk !!!
Liza from her own Lisa bar would serve anyone at any hour in any way she could ! 555555

The demise of the bars of Bangla has been going on for some years now ....
IIRC bars came and went and came again uptil some spurious announcements ( IMO promulgated by the owners of Tiger wanting to skyrocket the value of land they owned near Baanzan and where the Boxing now is ) that stated that all the bars were to be pushed out of Bangla and up to the back of San Sabai by 2012.
I think someone of that stature saying that , had some influence over the markets sense of security ( if they ever had one )

Lion was my favourite - I really liked little Soi Lion , what with girls dancing on the bar and rubbing their groins on your head and the like ... whats not to like about that ? 555

Anyway , they tried a relocation in a spot well up San Sabai and failed.

Soi Easy was never a big hit , and I kinda wonder why because it was fully a/ced , and I like many had a favourite girl in there , but it was next to go.
Then the huge impact of the New Tiger that vacuumed up so many girls ...
A fire in old Tiger , the upgrade of Soi Eric to Soi Freedom , and the closing of Gonzo.

And I heard Soi Croc is now closed - where will those lovely young LBs stay now ?
( Boo Hoo and Oh Deary Me ...)

My old mate Brian Kuhio is over from the US after a 2 year absence , and he stated he hardly recognized any of PATONG , let alone Bangla ....

Soi Lion - Bangla Road - Phuket Nightlife - Phuket 101

So Lion got pulled down and a shopping 'precinct' that nobody goes into has replaced it...

You guys all made my decision
I hate going to the same place all the time but I just can't find a place I like as much as Lamai
The combination of beach atmosphere and nightlife that isn't in your face does it for me.

We decided to pick only one place...Patong or Samui
But all this talk of congestion and traffic just made my decision.

Maybe someday I will get back to Phuket 555

Have you asked about dropping the car at Don Sak...much more convenient and some rental car companies allow it

Let me know if you change your dates again...I'll be here but not long after I am heading to BKK and Upcountry for a bit...to see Mr G's new son

Very out of place unless that's the future of the Soi.

Chob, the bar I drank in was called the Duck Tonight (or someting along those lines), and was opposite a bar called Black Cat.

The Duck Bar from what I read at the time, was something to do with whovever run Karlsson's. So no idea what happened now to the bar or the people who worked there, now the Soi has been pulled down.

It was one of those things, where you get a bar that you are comfortable drinking in, does not matter where there is a few people or the bar is mobbed, you get on well with the people who are there and still have a great time.

Same thing with the bars in Sunset Plaza in the afternoons, I know I can go down there and have a great time and enjoy myself with out having all the crap that goes on in other places.

I like to drink somewhere I feel comfortable, especially if I am on my own, that is what makes a good holiday for me.

The Lady running the Duck Tonight had been around for a long long time , used to be a great little bar , I BF'd from there a few times and my friend took a girl from there on our first trip in '90

Which company do you rent the car from, I know that Budget pick up the Car anywhere but it is to far from a office you have to pay a fee.

I don't know if I will be in Thailand this year, but if I come I will be there from 15. March until 18. April, perfect timing.
