    Christmas in Bangkok

Any ideas for what to do - i know it's not a special day for them but sounds like they make some effort
Have only ever spent 4 days in the big city.

    Keep it simple
Take a group of 10 or more Thais to a restaurant they like
Pay for all their food and drink
Hand out some cash as Xmas gifts
    They will do the rest.....

I spent last Christmas in Bangkok. Loads of bars/restaurants do Christmas dinners... I was surprised how Christmasy it all felt... and don't get me started on Santa's little helpers popping up everywhere... 555
My only experience was in a pie making factory managing the gravy team

The first Time I went to Thailand I spent Xmas in Bangkok. Although they do not celebrate it they know the Tourists do so they make an effort. We went to a restaurant and had a Roast Dinner then went out to a bar which was well decorated for the day. If you were to do that get away from Sukhumvit Rd to find a restaurant as the ones on teh Suk are mainly Indian or Arabic restaurants. Personal I would perfer to go celebrate Xmas with the Thai's.....
I also feel that a lot of the thai People (in the touristy areas) are becoming more and more Westerised and will start to celebrate Xmas, New Years, Birthdays ect when Traditionally they never would. Noy knows exactly what Xmas is and I have already been told I am her Santa this year (just need the red suit and I am there) 555.

This goes back about 16 years Kobe Japan I was for Christmas. One store had Santa Nailed to the cross. I think an ex wife has the bloody picture.
