Posting Box from Thailand by sea

Anyone else has had a box sent form Thailand by sea ?

JK's being waiting on hers 1 month now and is getting a little worried about it.

I don't think 1 month is a long time and it should be close.....as long as its not on its way to Austria....55555555555

If anyone has sent by sea, how long did it take??

    cheers

Just thought of coarse for you western coastal people it would be a lot quicker as its a lot closer...unbelievable to think that Australia is so big it nearly halves the dsitance there...55555...well not quite Perth to BKK = 5331.....Sydney to BKK = 7540...

But its gotta cut a few days of it not having to sail right round to SYD

DAMM...having a TG/TW is much more suited for life on the west coast for sure

I was thinking about 6 weeks by sea, this allows for the 25-26 days at sea period and a week on either side for processing and customs

It takes 4 weeks by ship if direct shipment but can be transshipped in Singapore which can add another 2 weeks. So then add another week for the Thai postal system and customs and post here.

I have had that much lost both ways I will only ever send by UPS or similar for smallish Items.

Exactly JM, I'm only batting at 50% on items sent from here to be received at final destination LOS, and one was air mail that turned up 6 weeks later.

Just envelopes by general air mail, only one to the deep and dark depths of Isaan, and luckily none with any monetary value

Have shipped stuff by sea before, but nowadays can't see the point unless its really big and heavy making it impossible to air freight. Firms like DHL do a fantastic job all with live tracking. With sea transport I am always reminded of pictures showing overloaded container ships keeling over and massive containers falling into the sea. Then thinking every one of them has someone's goods in them. Even once saw footage of containers being washed up on the south coast of the UK with local people helping themselves, one guy even riding someone's motorbike away from the wreckage. (Later found out the Police used the footage to track them down and charge them).
And where the hell was Biggles.....?....when you needed him last Saturday....?

Yeah this was 20kg tea chest size

airfreight was going to be more then 7000 baht

    sea was only 2000 baht.

I send smaller parcels and have them sent to me from all over the place by fedex for work.....but not this weight...not by fedex that's for sure.......the good old postal surface is by far the cheapest

Hey Sydney, just a thought, send it via leaky boat to Xmas Island, you not only get your package through customs with a Navy escort. You can get a settlement grant of $80,000 dollars and free house and furniture.

Also free transport to Sydney from Xmas Island..........
