Here is a little bit of info

Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao is the best place to stay IMO

Using the MRT station at pathon yothin is the best way to get into the suk area

It's not too far from Weekend Chatuchak Markets

You'll see it spelled Lat Phrao on the signage. That is where I stayed in Tung's apartment on my last trip. Big Central Mall Lat Phrao is quite decent, tho caters 99% to Thai when I was there. Not full of the usual street life you see in the more touristy areas like the Suk. Some nice restaurants ... we went to a couple of good ones, but I could never tell you where they are now ... somewhere on Lat Phrao Road.

I am curious, why do you want to know?

I think he met a university educated hi-so TG on a language learning site that has invited him to stay at her apartment, no strings attached. 555

A crowded dormitory suburb. Full of students and the local roads are gridlocked. You can sit and watch the lights change without ever moving. Make sure you are staying a short walk from the train, because it may be the only way for you to get to and from the station.

Yup, that pretty much describes the traffic in the area ....

Taken from pedestrian overpass connecting with Central Mall Lat Phrao ...

Ahhhhh memories, this is the area i stayed for a year, would have moved closer but i signed a new lease before i split with a lovely who lived nearby.
Never liked Central lad Phrao ever, traffic like your never seen often to 11am midnight even, often got knocked back when downtown mid evening from taxi drivers quote "traffic jam", footpaths jam packed with stalls walking single file at snail pace i took to walking on the road many times and not to mentioned some of the worst footpaths in BKK.
Very rude motorbike riders using the footpath, got clipped twice on the ankle from them not to mentioned twice almost being run over on the footpath from motorist, forget trying to use the zebra crossings its war on that road you will need to walk to the closest pedestrian overpass, mate if you value your life this is not the place to be.
