    TV's in Thailand

Brought a new cheapo brand TV today .... they are nearly giving them away !!

$ 349.00 for a 1080P LED 40 inch...crazy, chuck a bluray movie though it and the quality is amazing..

So the JK makes the comment how can she take on home for her Dad who loves watching television, but does so on a tiny little 20 something inch old CRT TV.... poor fella, geez buy him a new one i said.... ohhh no very pensive in bkk she says... well you can't carry a monster 48 inch on the plane i said....5555 ... hmmmm or can yah ?

Anyway does anyone have an idea on how much a decent sized led or lcd TV would cost in BKK... not massive but 42 or 48 inch maybe ?

Not sure of prices but alot of Indians send TVs back home from OZ, we get heaps of them on the Thai, Singapore and Malaysia Airlines flights. Depending on which airline, you may just have to take the TV to 'oversize' after checking in (in Melbourne Thai & Singapore will handle it for you, Malaysia you have to take it to 'oversize' yourself).

It's all relative Sydney... your grand kids will be writing on a forum one day....

"Our Gramps loves watching TV.... but he has one of those tiny 60 inch LED ones from ancient times... how can we get him one of those "Surround-vision" TVs that let you touch and feel the actors..."

Samsung + LG 42" start in at around the 14-15K baht ($500) mark at Tesco....Alpha (cheapo brand) is a bit less maybe $400....but why would you buy el cheapo when you can get TOR for a hundred bucks extra

SO they are handing it over and having it put in the hold right ? obviously not as cabin baggage ..555

Bawdy it must be bit of a pain handling these monster screens sometimes, although the LED's are very light, but still awkward..do they arrive at the other end ok ?

From what Bacwaan is saying prices look about the same, maybe a bit more in LOS

Specials at PowerBuy/HomePro/BigC/Central/Robinsons work out similar to Aus. Keep an eye on BigC specials ... 24" Toshiba LED in this months > Brochure 4/2557 Big C Supercenter

Th is changing to digital quite fast, although FREE black boxes are to be offered for old TV's, the variety of channels and pic quality will be dramatic on digital sets.
    Cheers, Rob.

We were at Robinsons yesterday the Powerbuy section there often have a 'special of the day' maybe one that's been used as a shop demo for a while, didn't look at screen size but did note price of 49,990b reduced to 29,990b (Samsung)
Spoke to a staff member re digital cameras, once had a huge range now a lot of empty space and just about 30 cameras all heavily reduced, she said they were stopping selling all but high-end ones due to improvements in the camera quality in mobile phones.

Yes, they can be a pain to handle, we try our best, should be covered by insurance.
