    Sukhumvit Songkran

I'd prefer not to stay by Suk but my wife wants to

But would it be crazy with water fights during Songkran?

    Thanks

Was around that area about 2 yrs ago was pretty full on all the way to Silom (as far as I walked). If you want to catch the sky train, then very busy, however, worth the walk along the above ground walkway to watch those playing below, or just stay and play in cowboy. I would not venture back around that area again for songkran, way to busy for mine.
But, in hindsight, the only reason I was there was for dental work on Asoke Rd so wasn't in a very Songkran mood....

If you don't want to get wet or powdered, then you'd be better off staying in your loom.

Why are a lot of you guys anti sonkgran?. This will be my second one and I am really looking forward to it. Thinking about buying some water pistols before I head over. Can you get decent water pistols in Phuket for a fair price like this one?Nerf Super Soaker Shot Blast Pump Action Water Blaster Fires UP TO 7 6M | eBay

I enjoy it but we are moving around the 1st week and sort of following Songkran
I am very much looking forward to Songkran at the Temple in Suphanburi, it gets pretty full on
So i'd rather not be in it for 4 days straight

Plus, i'd rather stay somewhere away from it and then head over to it so that I am not walking out of my hotel to water buckets
My stepson will probably want to go wild, so maybe I will head up to Suk/Nana on the Sunday and drink some beers while he "plays water"

Seen 10 or so now,it's a lot of fun.

There were times where you "play water" and have a lot of fun and go back to the room and get ready for a night out and cop a dunking pretty much as soon as you walk out in the good clothes...being dunked in ice water is not nice too.Getting hit with a bucket of water from idiot farangs while riding a bike dangerous etc

A day or 2 is fine but it gets a bit boring day after day.

Phuket is fine these days with only 2 days of it. Other places were it goes for a week is a bit over kill IMO.

We have a nice traditional family ceremony on the patio - which always degenerates into a waterfight - followed by a big feed.
Then the girls go to downtown and go bonkers while I watch the footy.
    Finis - enough!

I agree that the drunken farang idiots have ruined this fun festival. No place for a SOF with a stick 555!

^ Tesco in JC has them...Otop....Baanzan...many shops on Nanai + Sai Namyen....get a Thai to buy them and get out a little bit...then the prices will be less than a farang can buy on Bangla
