    Jesada Motor Museum Bangkok

After seeing a few pics from the Jesada Motor Museum posted in the Car thread here I knew that next time I was in Bangkok that I would make the effort to check it out. The time to have a look was April 2014, first off it is not easy to find.

I came prepared and wrote down the address in English, then the Hotel I was staying at wrote it down in Thai, I also wrote down the phone number off their website. We spoke to a couple of Taxi drivers and they were saying 3 hours to drive their, its in the direction of Hua Hin, I said I just came from Hua Hin a few days ago and it was 3 hours to this hotel 555, then they said maybe 2 hours 555.

I didnt want to gamble with a Taxi Driver so I rang my usual Taxi driver and he had no problem taking us their, he said about 1 or 1.5 hours. We got to the general area fairly easy, then it got hard 555 The phone numbers I had were not connected, everyone the Taxi driver spoke with had no idea 555 We stumbled around asking different people when finally, a policeman pointed us in the right direction and then I saw some signs, finally found the joint 555

First off free entry, which I thought was unusual, and the number of vehicles is just mind blowing, over 450 I was told. I never new they made so many different 3 wheel vehicles in the world, and alot of them must be retired to here. Also scooters, brands I have never heard of. I asked if it was Ok to look in the warehouse nextdoor where there are many more unrestored vehicles, can look no problem. I dont know how wealthy the owner is but the cost of getting theses vehicles to one place would be enormous.

Ill start of with the 3 wheelers........................

Sometimes its so much better to see motorbikes etc in their natural state of having been used not just restored etc.
Looks like a spot well worth visiting. ZE germans were well represented I see.
    Cheers. Rivo

PS they spelt my name wrong on that scooter.5555

I should think that finding parts to restore most would be well-nigh impossible too..

If that Museum could be picked up and deposited somewhere in the West and properly managed it could bring in a small fortune...Psst...Rivo..call me and we will set up a syndicate...555

Probably the best reason that it is where it is and hopefully stays there…

In a Western museum they either be resorted to look like new destroying the wonderful patina of age, or hidden under lock and key awaiting restoration. Old vehicles that are restored to better than new and then do not turn a wheel for fear of damaging their costly restorations do very little for me.

This place looks like a treasure trove and deserves to be kept exactly as it is, and not turned in to some garish display that you need to pay loads to see. Plus it is a Thai collection and a tribute to one man's passion and should remain that way

    Rust in Peace……

I get your drift Pete..but don't you think the stuff looks like a load of junk rusting away in a warehouse right now? Yes, I do see the appeal, but proper management would bring a wider audience and all the money that entails to be used for long term restoration (Not just for me and Gav to do extensive fact finding missions in LOS of course...555).

I know you like your scooters Baccy, im picturing you with your favourite TG stopping in at the Duck & Pig Inn and grabbing takeaway then heading down to one of your beaches on Samui, you know the blanket on the beach scene, grabbing a cold drink from your trailer 555, this would of been an impressive setup when new..................................
